Description

Foxtrot Mike Products is at it again with another 9mm AR pistol exclusively built for Primary Arms. For those wanting an even smaller and lighter pistol, this build features a short 5” barrel with a 1:10 twist rate. The FM Products blast diffuser extends past the 5.5” M-LOK handguard and directs all the excess gas and concussion of your shots forward instead of the sides, making this much more enjoyable to shoot at indoor ranges. The upper and lower receivers are machined from billet aluminum allowing for a greater degree of customizability for look and function. The magazine well and upper receiver feed ramps have been machined for use with Glock magazines, yet it is still compatible with standard AR-15 parts like a trigger, pistol grip, and safety selector. The integrated magazine release is much larger and easier to reach than the Mil-Spec alternative allowing for quicker magazine changes. Utilizing a Standard T-style charging handle, you can swap it out for whatever you want. Foxtrot Mike is building some of the most popular AR-9s on the market and Primary Arms is proud to offer them directly to you.
Features:
- Ambidextrous charging handle
- 5” barrel chambered in 9mm
- Billet upper and lower receiver
- Glock compatible magazine well, receiver, and bolt
- Enlarged magazine release
- Blow back recoil mechanism
- Blast diffuser muzzle device
- Mil-Spec AR-15 lower parts kit

- 5.5" M-LOK handguard
This blowback 9mm pistol comes with a smooth pistol length buffer tube and buffer/recoil spring combination tuned to reliably cycle a wide variety of ammunition. The heavy 9mm bolt also helps to increase dwell time and reduce bolt bounce ensuring safe and smooth feeling action. An additional feature with this model is the included SB Tactical SBA3 pistol stabilizing brace. Featuring 5 positions of length adjustability and a nylon strap for securely attaching to different arm sizes. Makes your AR pistol much more usable whether you are shooting one handed, braced against your cheek, or pushing forward against a sling. Feature rich, high-quality, and affordable, Foxtrot Mike Products offer cutting edge solutions utilizing the highest quality materials and manufacturing processes available.

Question Fellow Enthusiasts, In your opinions, If & when Corn Pop orders them illegal with the swipe of his crayon will you have to turn them in and lose your investment, or can you keep it just can’t buy any more ? Thank you for your opinions.

it's a joke but men need nipples. Our offspring carry on average half of our DNA. Therefore female offspring would have a 50/50 chance of not being able to feed her offspring. Dude nipples save lives.

Hello, I am seriously considering buying this product, how good is it, and what is its quality. I like the small size as I got to a somewhat quaint gun range out in the middle of nowhere. What other calibers can it be cchambered in

Anything else in this category, regular blowback PCCs, its a good price. You probably won't be able to part it out and build it for less. Any delayed blowback PCCs are going to cost you over $1k.

Most of the 9mm lowers can also be reconfigured in .40. If you want more wiggle, pun intended, then look at drop in mag blocks.

If this went under $600, I'm not sure I'd be able to resist. At this point though, I'd still rather build my own. Need to start putting together my parts list and look for deals.

By the time you add a 9mm lower, lpk, and sba 3; you're not really going to save any money. Fully part out and you might.

So just carry a Glock then!

Ignorant comment. The only thing "Glock" about this this firearm is the magazine well. Let me fix it for you: If you want a Glock, get a Glock. If you want a pistol, maybe *consider* a Glock. If you want the closet thing to a 9mm SBR without the expensive tax stamp or unnecessarily long wait time, get this.

I'm thinking he's referencing the barrel length since 5" is a bit short in terms of performance for 9mm. 8-10" is generally considered the peak. Either way, you have to turn it up to 11" before you can use a vertical grip with an sba3.

You can easily build for cheaper. The big thing you have to watch out for is mag well and feed ramp compatibility. Since the lower receiver is tweaked to fit 9mm it's not nearly as plug and play as changes for rifle cartridges. PSA is "proprietary", so I don't recommend mixing with them, other companies are a little more compatible. Overall a Colt build is going to be a little more straight forward, but it's not like many people have an Uzi for edc, so the mag swap advantage is lost.

The type of brace has no bearing on OAL. The ATF clarified that measurement goes from the base of the buffer tube to the muzzle, or from the hinge of a folder to the muzzle.

muzzle, or, for folders, from the hinge to the muzzle.

Thanks for the info. It definitely seems picking the right pasrts is a little more critical on the 9mm builds than others. I'd been hoping to see some parts come up on here, but it's been several months since I started looking and I haven't seen anything notable pop up yet. I had expected at least an 80% 9mm lower to come up.

I honestly could care less about Glock mags. I'm not a "Glock guy", so it's not like I'm saving myself anything with not having to buy mags. I do want last round lock, definitely want the SBA3 (have it on my AR pistol and love), and definitely do NOT want a vertical grip (were you assuming I wanted one, or mentioning it in relation to accuracy/length of barrel?). I'm probably going to get the Strike Industries LINK-CFG grip for it. I was thinking of going with around 7.5" if I built it myself, this just keeps coming up on here and it seems like a well put-together gun. It doesn't have to be amazingly accurate. This is something I consider to be more of a "fun" gun than something I would depend on to keep me alive.

I've been hearing the recoil is worse (ie: "different") on the AR-9s. Not sure why, or what (if anything) can be done to mitigate it. Again, not worried much about that. Since I have the Modulus Arms jig, I'm planning to build one of each of the four types it supports (5.56, .308, 9mm, 45).

Happy to help. Went thru some shit on my first 9 build, more info out there the better. You're not going to see a ton on here cause it's still a bit of a fringe round, especially for a build. 80%'s even more so. They've some a long way in the past couple years, so you can find configurations way more mags, but off suits will come come a premium. Right now I'm looking into m&p and hk compatible lowers, $$$.

Colt's the og and probably has the fewest issues, but glock is probably the most popular. BHO you'll have to shop around for, and sometimes is really only dependent on the specific mag. Modified Uzi mags work, but no bho because of the follower, c mag is gtg with most colt lowers with bho option.

I mention the vert grip because oal came up on a previous deal. 7.5" will get you decent accuracy and velocity out of the shell, go much below that and just get better with your edc. 8-9" is considered the sweet spot. With a sba3 recoil is fairly negligent, but a better buffer(8oz)/spring(flat) will help. Kak brace is too stiff for comfort on a blow back.

The modulus looks near identical to easy jig gen 2, but costs more. I have the gen 1 that works great, minus a vacuum extension. Consider only drilling a pilot hole for routing, found the swiss cheese method made me jump more when working by hand. Also, look up grainger for cheaper bits, the oem cost a fortune.

Careful, cause this road sets you down a long path. The 45 will be a pita on sourcing, that's the caliber that seems to have diminished interest in the pcc platform. Soon enough and you'll start to wanna kote.

Oh I know, just trying to rationalize spending twice as much as a glock adapter so I can use mp mags. If it used the standard mag release I might be sold.

I used the pilot hole method. Not sure why anyone would want to even attempt the swiss cheese method. I've cut enough metal in my life to know, lol. Sorry you you had to go through that. You lost me with a few of the acronyms. I'll have to do a lot more reading. It's nothing I'm in a big rush to do... more just keeping my eyes open for deals. Like you said, doesn't look like I'll find many, though. I'd really like to build one, but I'm actually thinking about getting a Ruger PC Charger and calling it a day.

With an AR9 the two biggest decisions you're going to have to make are if you want a dedicated lower and if bolt hold open matters. If you need bho you may end up paying more, and sometimes will only work with certain mags. Personally I like the idea of being able to use the lower on something else, so I only got one that is dedicated. It's probably my best build, but the glory of the AR is how adaptable it is.

After those it's really about which mag you want to use and if a different release is going to bug you. The adapters have come a long way in the past couple years, so aside from the standard bearers of colt/uzi and glock, you can now get them for s&w, mp5, and sig, if not more. I don't have any experience with those last three, but they're generically more expensive. I'm really interested in a s&w build because it uses the m&p mags and I really like that platform. Some of the drop in's have a proprietary mag release, which I'm not fond of. I can't tell you how many times I'm at the range and am like "why wont the mag drop", because I'm using the normal mag release and not the weird lever at the bottom.

The Ruger is by far probably your easiest route, but I'm not a fan of their mags or that much polymer. I'll say the biggest advantage is by far the folding stock. I've considered a law adapter a couple times, not being able to shoot with it folded really kills the purpose. Probably the biggest disadvantage is you're kind of stuck with the stock parts, so if you don't like something, deal with it.

An AR9 is fairly straight forward, but not as mix and match as a .556 or other rifle rounds. The biggest issue most people find is feeding. You're asking a pistol round to do a long jump into a barrel on an action that was designed for bigger rounds. Arfcom has a pretty good pistol caliber carbine following, and there are great resources there. Whatever you end up with, you'll have fun with a good pcc.

Actually, reading a bit more, it sounds like I want a Colt style lower. Not sure if I'll get LRBHO with that, though.

Thanks for all the good info. It seems like there are a lot of "gotchas" to watch out for. I definitely want LRBHO, don't want/need a folding stock, and really don't care much about it having proprietary parts or not. I also don't care about mag type at all, since like I said earlier, it's not like I have any glock mags I can carry over. For 9mm, we have Beretta and Taurus mags that I'm going to guess will never find a home in any AR-9 lower. My main desire to do this is that 9mm is so damned prevalent, cheap, etc. This to me would be a very fun gun. I'm not looking for a tack-driver. I'll probably put a mid-range reflex sight on it and call it a day. 8" seems about good. I would like stock AR-15 like mag drops. Having an extra lever seems janky... so whatever lower/mag combo gives me stock AR-like action appeals most. Definitely will go with the SBA3 brace. Absolutely love it on the AR pistol I just built. If I could do an 80% lower and get LRBHO, I would probably go that route. But if it's going to be an issue, I have no prob buying it regular through an FFL. Especially if it's going to be finicky if I cut my own with the MA jig.

You can get bho on colt, but you have to go with cmag's, it's the follower that triggers it. Uzi's aren't high enough, and actual colt mags are harder to come by and pricey. If you do go colt, it's the original so most of the testing's already been done. A true colt lower is going to be pricey, and if you can find it.

Glock's about the only 80 around, so you may want to consider a .556 80 with a drop in colt adapter. You used to get sylvan adapters for $50, but it's more these days. Customer service from them is beyond the pale, and uses standard mag release. As long as you're using the right mags you have bho. Spinta make a great bcg on the cheap. Only downside is you don't want to load a new mag on a closed chamber, binds in the bolt.

Stern makes a beretta adapter, but new tech so I'm not as versed, and double if not triple of a colt adapter. Has bho, but looks like a proprietary mag release.

Anything 7.5"+ is going to give you results you want out of 9mm with an rds, more than 10" and you want a scope, and maybe a rifle round.

Again, happy to help, pay it forward. Dm if you've got more questions later on, I'll reply when I can.

What makes this better than a Glock chassis system? I see that the Glock chassis system is about 4" shorter for the same barrel length and LOP, folds already at a lower total price, and has some other advantages I don't care about.

What advantages does this offer?

5” extra light? 6.44 lbs even heavier then a 16” AR, Ridiculous.

Why is the "blast diffuser" threaded? For a can I assume...but the threads are reversed and the opening is larger than any can I've seen.

Thanks, right after I posted I found a YouTube review with it, would love to see if the shorter/modified Deadfoot folder would function. I have their double folder 223 and an even smaller package will make a great truck gun

I have an FM AR-9 with the 8” barrel and have zero issues with HP jams. Mine is slightly different though. Longer barrel, and mine is the side charger, so that could be why. I put 50 rounds of Speer gold dots through with zero malfunctions before I loaded up my mag and put this away as a home defense option. I will continue to test with gold dots and update if ever come across any jams, but through about 150 rounds total, I haven’t had a malfunction yet. And it’s been very accurate so far.

I got the 7" with side charger and love this thing. And your right its a great H.D. option. Oh and if yours didn't come with it, get the paratrooper extended charging handle. Email Foxtrot Mike directly about it "Game Changer"...lol

Jamming is kind of common with HP and ar platform 9mm. There is a lot more tolerance from the mag to the feed ramp that one usually would expect, and that's usually what's causing the problems. YMMV with differences in mags, well adapters, barrels, buffers, and format.

XTP's and FN jam most of the time, while Critical Defense and RN are fine.
