Hopefully comment replies are linked to your email, but that question is hard to directly answer. 5.7 in my experience has a penetrating problem, meaning there is an exit wound which can cause collateral damage. The polymer tip helps ensure it tumbled better and hence dumps power instead of penetrating. That said the AE has less power, and may be better for use as self defense. Honestly depends on how many people you live around. In a city go with a 9mm, in more rural lower populated areas or home I think blue tips 5.7 is good.
Cheapest Iv seen blue tips in a long time. AE 5.7 went for $25 at my local gun shop in 2019, cheap as $15 online. Blue tips have always been like 10%-20% more so this price is what it should be really or close to it. Always been an expensive round.
So would these be a better defensive round than the American Eagles?
