Gotta go with 17s is your dropping this kinda cash... But I gotta agree that there are SOOO many AR's out now that do everything this does. I don't agree with the $500 mark. But LWRC and PWS to name a few. But your paying $1,600-$2k for those so I don't fault someone for paying the extra cash for something a little different. If your spending $2400 on this just spend a little extra and go the 17s route which is hard to beat anyway you cut it. Light, accurate, reliable, and all kinds of aftermarket love. It's the gold standard for battle rifles.... Never completely understood this one but I can appreciate it. If your looking for somthing different that rocks in 556 check out he Bren. $800 less than this and just as fun but not your standard AR. Just some food for thought as I get not wanting another AR.
$2500 for a rifle that can't outshoot most $500 ARs- PT Barnum was right about a sucker being born every minute. At least it will look so kewl topped off with a $1500 ACOG on your Instagram feed- don't forget to wear your black/coyote shemagh scarf
Totally disagree. If you want an AR with a hi-lo gas system, CHF barrel, folding stock that can fire while folded, a charging handle that isn't touching your nose, and the ability to change barrels without losing zero, you are going to have a hard time finding it for the price of a SCAR. If none of that matters to you, then the AR is the way to go. But if you shoot suppressed, a piston gas-system is more enjoyable.
I bought a second barrel, cut it down to 14", and can swap it out with the factory barrel and not lose zero...still shoots nickle sized groups @100 with Wolf Gold ammo. It is an amazing carbine.

These guns are sweet. I have had 3 of them and still have my black one. I paired it with an Eotech xps(which should still have a $50 rebate). You can check out fnforum.net for more info on them(range reports, best ammo, mods...). For some reason the Black ones seem to shoot more accurately ;)
They are starting to drop in price. 17s is down to $2650. Once it hits $2,200 I'm in for one
