A lot of chatter here regarding that whore known as the Ruger 57. Yesterday (03-02-2021) I got an email from Impact Guns and they advertised this slut for $549, which is tempting, but now Palmetto State Armory has the much superior FN Five-seveN for a paltry $1099.99 and that's a temptation that's hard to resist. Unfortunately, this came out about a week after I just got one for $1279.00 but it came with 3-mags because it was an earlier production run from last year. I talked with FN USA and they told me that the new production runs of the Five-seveN now come with only 2-magazines as of this past Fall. They're made in South Carolina but the parts all come from Belgium and then they're assembled here. I've owned Ruger's before and will swear by their Blackhawks and Redhawks. However, their semi-auto handguns and rifles leave a lot to be desired as far as reliability is concerned, and the fit and finish and overall quality are very low from my experience and many others online will also attest to this fact. That's why you'll see a Ruger 57 for under $600. The FN Five-seveN is the savvy shoppers choice and a better overall investment that will pay you dividends in reliability and satisfaction plus it will also hold it's resale value much better then that Ruger will. In fairness I've heard that Ruger is trying to improve the reliability and quality of the 57 and their AR's. I returned an AR to them which had issues and they quickly resolved the matter and returned it with a very short turnaround time. I was impressed with their customer service and their willingness to make sure that I as a customer was satisfied. However, the risk is already there with the Ruger as far as I'm concerned and that's why I won't own anything from Ruger except a Blackhawk or a Redhawk. I'm all in on the FN America products that accommodate the 5.7x28mm. You'll never go wrong with FN.

I live in South Carolina. I don't have that gun but I have a couple in the box 20 round mags and the extenders to make them 30 rounders. Did you want them, I bought them years ago.

Would be a neat pistol to own but with the already inflated panic prices on ammo and the fact 5.7 was already expensive and in limits, this just doesnt make any sort of economical sense. I guess it is made for those who have enough money they dont care about the costs. Im just a working stiff so unfortunately Ill have to wait for a lottery win, unknown inheritance or financial miracle to happen...

MSRP is 899. Is this the “let’s take advantage of scared customers price”? PSA, what are you think? I hope you’re investing in your business. You’re gonna need to prove all the money that you’re sucking up is going to a good cause once everything calms down.

Scratch the MSRP being 899, confused it with the Ruger. Paying more than 800 for a 5.7 would be a travesty in my honest opinion. I guess this purchase is better left for those with deep pockets

If you can find a Ruger!

If you can find a Ruger
It still won't be a FN, no matter how hard they copy.
Ruger has always been the king of low budget firearms, FN has always been a high end brand.......2+2=18 ? (this equation brought to you by common core schooling)

Ruger probably peaked mid 70's, and never entered the semi era with anything worthwhile. Love my blackhawk, but anything newer I've handled I've put back instantly.

On a side note, I recently had a diversity training "test' where it had you figure out how many "f's" were in a paragraph. There were 9, but any answer was "correct".
