The FN FNX-45 Tactical in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) is a hammer fired semiautomatic, short recoil operated pistol chambered in .45 ACP. The FNX-45 Tactical is modeled after the FNP-45 which was FN’s service pistol that was submitted to the U.S. Joint Combat Pistol Program in 2007. Featuring a stainless steel, cold hammer forged barrel, the FNX Tactical was built to last and can fire thousands of rounds before needing a replacement. What sets the FNX-45 Tactical apart from the base model FNX-45 is the threaded muzzle which can readily accept suppressors, compensators, or various other aftermarket accessories and suppressor height tritium night sights (rear yellow/front green) are standard. The tactical version also comes with two 15-round extended magazines. The stainless-steel slide has been modified to accept multiple types of optics with two mounting plates included with each pistol. This FN firearm is equipped with various ambidextrous controls such as the magazine release, safety/decocking lever, and a slide stop release lever. Interchangeable backstraps with lanyard eyelets are included to provide ergonomic customization to the user. This accommodates left and right-handed shooters. A loaded chamber indicator adds an extra safety feature and tritium night sights make the sights visible in all kinds of lighting conditions. The barrel and slide travel almost up to twice the distance of competitors before unlocking which means the spring can absorb more momentum of the barrel and slide.
