What a smart piece of kit! I had never seen anything like this before. For anyone living or working say in a high rise building this could be a life saver in the event of a fire.
Maybe a person lives in a very fire prone area (like myself) where intense forest and grassland fires are a yearly event. In fact a couple years ago in my area, we had devastating fires that completely burned down whole town's and thousands lost their homes and businesses (look up Phoenix/Talent Oregon fires).
These are one of those things that "it's better to have and not need, than it is to need and not have".

I'm surprised these are not mandatory in either large footprint buildings (that even if not tall might take a while to get out, such as a hospital, large school, warehouse, factory, etc) or high rises. I'd buy if I did not live in a ranch and my office at work was not within 40 feet of two exits.
