I remember when these came out at almost $1000, finally reasonable price and I may have to get one

I have several sig 226 and 229 variations as well as this compact and it’s full size brother. While it shares a lot offload similarities, to call it a sig clone is a mistake. While it doesn’t have the track record of a Sig, I prefer the full size arex over pretty much all my sigs(including legion). These are excellent firearms and will be getting there tactical version shortly!!

What about the grip, I read a review that stated the grip could be a problem for shooters with smaller hands, how the the grip compare with the sig 229's grip?

It is a big, fat grip, but I think the 226 grip is pretty far too. I personally like it. A female shooter with small hands may not care for it though. Or the guy in the Hardee's commercial.

If I didn't have a MK25 already I'd think about this even though it has no performance track record like SIG does.

Sig clone...

Not quite. It’s half the cost and a better firearm.

What makes it better? It's only half the cost recently..... Probably due to lack of interest. I think the safety ruined the pistol. Sigs hold value at resale. Arex will get you 300 bucks if you can find a buyer who saw the mac video and values his opinion.

It is a fine gun, but it's not better than a sig unless you just hate sig or you are a mac fanboy. I can't name a military or police unit that has carried arex on duty. I bet there are few officers if any.

I follow GunBroker pretty closely (where I got mine), and they never sell for $300. Typically the used ones land in the 425-450 (plus shipping) area. I have a 226 also. Both are fantastic. I, along with the guys I shoot with, prefer the Arex.
