This stuff is absolute crap. I have so much of it I'll never use. I'll buy Federal for most every other caliber, but not for .22LR. FTFs/FTEs like crazy in both 10/22 and 22/45 Mark IV. Don't buy if you want this to shoot reliability in a Ruger. Not even a great price for .22, as there are other deals (in smaller quantities) for ~$0.04 a round.

Oh, works *ok* in my wife's Marlin 22 and daughter's Plinkster 702. Just doesn't cycle well in semi-automatics.

Works fine in my 10/22. But I upgraded the extractor before I even shot it.

Bought 2 buckets. Had a few ftf out of each. I think only 2 or 3 rounds didn't fire at all ( badprimers). Overall was happy as can be. Everyone that is bashing. Remember it's cheap target ammo not match grade. Out of the 2200 rounds less then 10 hiccups ! I'll take that any day for plinking.

Not bad but I won't buy this Federal BS again. Shot 150 rds in my Ruger mk3 today. I experienced stove pipe after stove pipe. Even had strikes where bullet didn't fire. Nothing wrong with the gun as Ruger 22/45 is known for it's quality. Must be the cheap ammo.

RETAIL100-MPRMB9 was mine...

Making 3 of these cost 101.62 to Georgia.

Subtotal: $119.97

Filthy garbage ammo. I'm glad to finally have shot the last of it. Worst 22 I've shot. The bullets look like chewed up dog toys.

I bought 5 of these last time it was on sale. Horrible accuracy. 5" groups at 50 yards. I shoot 1.2" with American eagle. Bothsemi auto pistol and revolver shoot large groups as well. Garbage.

I won't touch Academy anymore now that they've started to refuse to honor cash back from sites like Active Junky. Not only that but they have a habit of poorly packing ammo in shipping boxes. I've had 2-3 orders show up with ammo boxes loosely packed that have come apart in shipping.

Same. They screwed me out of $100 from Active Junky.

In my personal experience shooting about 1/2 bucket of this stuff....it’s not very accurate.

Low velocity, hollow point, or bulk ammo doesn't tend to be. This is all three.

Nothing better then 60grain .22 and a suppressor

The hell does that have to do with this?

Walmart sells this in 550 bricks for ~3.5¢ a round.

I bought the Federal Blue 525 packs at Academy $18.39 each after the 20 % off 3.5 cents a round shipped free to my door. No sales tax . You going to Walmart have to pay tax don't you. That adds to your cost so it is not 3.5 cents a round

Some states don't have sales tax but good point for sure.

I'll bet they lost some money during the 20% off sale. The first time I shopped there, I spent nearly a grand on an Aimpoint Pro and ammo. $120/can for XM193LC1 AC1, $40/bucket of .22lr, Aimpoint Pro for $350. LOL! Thanks Academy!

Ouch... $49.95? It's been turning a profit for the last month shipped and taxed to my door for $42.79.

What happened to $39.95?.. Now each bucket sold is just lining someone's pockets.

No thanks. Send a message. Let it collect dust.

The $39.95 was the 20%off with code CC201820PCT That is why you have to load up and buy what you want All good things come to a end.

Agreed, I just prefer prices remain sane so I don't feel the need to hoard. I came up on quite a bit in the last couple months, thanks to Academy... I'm more than comfortable, but paying 20 % more because of a missing digital coupon code is just giving your money away. I'll wait till another "magic" code comes back and if people do the same, it'll be back sooner than later.

Let it rot.

You are acting like Academy owes you 20% and free shipping all the time. Go see how much it costs to ship 1,100 .22 LRs and then report back to us whether you think Academy should be bending over backwards to please your cheap ass.

3 votes
0 votes

Yaaaaawn... It can be you who bends over backwards and pays the extra 20%. Unlike idiots like yourself, I don't pride myself in making other people rich.

But hey, like the saying goes, a fool and his money are easily parted.

So pay up SUCKER!

I suppose if I had to mow as many lawns as you do to afford a bucket of 22 LR, I would be pissed too.

Why is it that everytime someone wants to save a few bucks or likes free shipping, some asshole has to come on here and MUST comment about others having a crappy job or no job at all. Maybe you need to get some FACTS before opening you blowhole next time. I have been at my well-paying job for 24 years. I LOVE 20% off sales and free shipping. And I will wait for it. If I need a certain ammo now, I will shop around and get the best price.

BTW...There is nothing wrong with having to mow a few lawns to get your ammo. There is nothing wrong with living in a trailer. There is nothing wrong with working at McDonalds. The above shows you that the person is at least giving live a try and not staying home living the Obamalife.

First time I have completely agreed with you. Well said.

Hey DuaneDibbley, you speak of living the Obamalife as if it was an easy thing to do, Obama works very hard at orally pleasing his man Michael, so be more considerate when talking about the Obamalife.

Yeah but when you complain about companies lining their pockets and to let them rot because a coupon expired... I mean come on now...

True. And I apologize for the A-hole comment. That was uncalled for. That IS the point of companies. To make $$$. Otherwise, we would all be communists and the state would own everything...where California is heading. Peace.

CC201820PCT is not working for me and I do not see this code in the description!? I found it in user comments.

18WACTEN gives you 10% off

**UPDATE** - I called their online support, the CC201820PCT code was good through today, however they must have pulled it early.

They generated a new 20% off sitewide code while I was on the phone with them. Just call them and ask why the above code isn't working, it's good through today and they'll generate a new one for you!

Just paid 3.2 cents per round! I added to cart and there was already a $4 discount. Applied code "cc201820pct" and it took another $10 off. Also qualified for free shipping and no tax to Utah. Bought 3 for $107.98 shipped. It's been quite a while since I've paid 3.2 cents per round.

Feels good doesn't it? I ordered 4 buckets and went back for more but it was sold out. I'm very happy with this deal!

I am having an issue where the UPC is coming up as INVALID when trying to use these to get the promo that Federal Premium has going on. Looks like I will need to call them, cause I want my damn T-Shirt! :)

I sold off all my Thunderbolt and bought this from the money I made. I would say it's super clean comparing. Cycles reliably in my Phoenix Arms pistol.

In for one, thanks. No issue with weight for mine, and no sales tax lol

Their mobile site sucks donkee Richard. Switch to desktop site to find the almost hidden promo code plus sign.

You can enter the coupon code in your shopping cart before you check out. If you're using a PC it'll be on the right side of your screen about half way down. Look for the plus sign (+) next to "Have Coupon" (or something like that). Tap the plus sign and it'll give you a box in which to type the coupon code.

I checked it out myself just out of curiosity and ended up ordering a bucket while I was there. It was too good a deal to pass up.

Keep seeing an input code for discount put ordering page doesn’t allow anywhere to input the code? What gives?

This is a great deal, especially with the free shipping. Had no problems with the coupon code or check out. Total $42.79 out the door.

I tried purchasing this and I kept getting the issue of weight was over 130lbs and it wouldn’t take my payment method (tried PayPal as well as manual entry) nothing worked. I spend a half hour on hold for the lady to tell me to try back later. Surprisingly enough it worked.

Promotional Rebate trouble

Everyone trying to apply for the promotion online*
I called in to VistaOutdoors Promotion, told them to add the UPC of this product to the promotion. They said it will be about 7-10 days from now(4-13-2018) before the upc# is added to the online system

Spade Trump. Don't ask, just buy if you need. I buy to replace what I shoot, plus a few more to make my ammo cans happy. No more, no less. There is more for all once prices drop and the hoarders cant sell their overstock. Supply and demand.

As Westernstar put it the sku is being flagged for weight. No way that tiny ass bucket is 150lbs. Tried doing online chat support and it won't connect.

Anyone gotten this code/deal to work?
