$17.99 - yes....... $19.99 - maybe......$22.99 - aint happening (+taxes+shipping). I get average performance outta this bulk ammo in my weapons (nothing special) - at this price, will wait for better price or better ammo. Ya'll have a good day.

I bought a box of this Federal 325 back in 2013. Thousands of rounds later never bought this again.

This was supposed to be a comment further down that would have made more sense in context. Oops

That happens to me if I reply from my phone. Not sure why.

I purchased 15,000 rounds from Sportsmans Guide that was a mixture of Armscor and Remington so it was slightly less expensive ammo and I was wrong, it was .03/rnd. I will say the Armscor is probably the best .22 ammo I've ever bought.

So apples vs a truck load of oranges?

I will have to check out Armscor though. Never tired it.

Ncgoober is right. Although I see it settling at about 6-7¢. This is "a bit" above average ammo, imo. Half of you with 22s will shoot it fine, half will bitch. Its 22 for petes sake. Ok....here we go.... In the dozen or so rifles, pistols and revolvers I have in 22, (bolt, tube, semi, revolver) this stuff is, like I said, the median. You can go up to cci or down to aquila. If Your fire arm likes these, they plink well and are fairly accurate. Please feed whatever 22lr you have a variety of rounds to find what suits it best. Lastly, ALL of my 22s have a distaste for winchester 555 boxes. In the end, opinions are like assholes......

After Trump...people should not be buying until it is sub 3c/rd

Agree! Guns are a lot higher then they will be too. Gun makers are looking at a lot of pain coming. The layoffs have already started along with the rebates next is the prices falling of the cliff. Cant wait.

Do you honestly think this will get to below $9.75 per box? When was the last time that happened.....Bush Sr?!? Wow....

Trump is also going to give you a 12 inch dick, a PhD, and a free space ship ride to Venus to sky during the winter months.

I paid .02/rnd one month before Sandy Hook....

Black Friday ad? (Remember Sandy hook was in the middle of December)
Otherwise I would be very interested to know the retailer and quantity you purchased. Before Sandy Hook Walmarts regular price was 15.99 if memory serves...

Have shot tons of this stuff and it shoots fine for me, no better-no worse than any of the other 22lr in this price range. But at this time this price isn't that great of a deal ($22.00 plus tax at the time of this posting).

Not sure why someone would dislike this comment.

o.O

He just said it works for him, but it isn't a great deal at this price.

You should read the reviews for the Federal deal on Cabelas and then read the Winchester reviews, definitely "better" than other 22lr in this price range.

I get tons of eject failures with this ammo in a 10/22. Really messed up my Appleseed times and I had to switch ammo.

"My grandpappy bought 22 for less from a full service gas station which had no limit, checked your oil, had a lunch counter, and didn't force me to sit with them 'coloreds' when eating so this is (insert random person / company's) fault!!!!!"

Walmart had this for $17 a box @ July 2016 where I live.
Walmart employee said its hard to keep this caliber in stock because people are still hoarding.

16cave does NOT work for this as it is not a bargain cave deal

7 cents per round is the new deal it seems, bummer

$18.99 everyday in-store at Academy. Current limit is ~1~ box per person, but with no less than (5) Academy stores within 30 minutes of my home, I can certainly buy it faster than I can shoot it. (I take Ma with me and 'double down' for good measure)
The 22LR is finally coming out from behind the counters at Academy now,,, Nice to see it out on shelves where you can pretty much snag all you want (if you want). Sure, they have a sign posting limits, and if your blatantly obvious, someone behind the gun counter might say something,,, but there appears to be plenty to go around.
Kinda sucks for the folks in locations with limited access, but hopefully it will get better for them soon.

The first time u buy its about the same as this but with the $10 survey coupon it beats this price. U must have a crappy dicks store while there is never a guy in the gun area i hit a button and he is there within 30 seconds and my wait is line is about 2 mins everytime.

0 votes
0 votes

It says in stock, but when I actually click on "add to cart", it tells me it's out of stock.

dicks has this on sale in their stores like once a month for $19.99. buy some get a receipt and there is always a "do this survey get $10 off your next purchase of $50 or more". Then go in and buy more with a coupon. the guy might say that coupons dont work on ammo but they have always gone through for me. i've done it multiple times i buy 3 boxes for like $53. come to 5.4 cents per round. just get a score card when u check out

That's $19.99 plus tax which puts it right around this deal from Cabelas w/o having to drive to Dick's, wait for help, then wait on line to check out, etc.

1 vote
0 votes

Also, Dick's still won't have a five box limit. At best you'll get three which was the limit 2-3 weeks ago and for the same price as this deal from Cabela's. Good luck getting a clerk to give you the $10 off on ammo.

ive never once had a problem getting the $10 off. the clerk always says it might not work but then they scan it and always tell me the system allows it. the first time i went a few months ago there was a 3 box limit, but after that they have always told me there is no limit. only reason i only buy 3 boxes at a time is cause i own 8 different calibers and cant afford to buy shit tons of each

I'm just wondering, is this the only 22 ammo that Federal produces anymore? Never see any of the 525 blue boxes, or the 550 red boxes anymore. I see this all the time.

and of course the free shipping coupon just expired.....

Still not a deal, I bought (10) 550rd. bricks for $170 shipped before the panic, still overpriced. I still have some from that order so I will wait, lead and copper are CHEAPER than 3 years ago, they could sell if for less now, they are selling to people overpaying, not a deal.
when people come to there senses the price might drop to normal, if you need a couple bricks to shoot I can see, but it's the hoarders
buying 20 bricks that only shoot 1 or 2 a year that is causing the price spikes, after sandy hook not one law was voted on to ban ANY AMMO, this is just panic induced stupidity, fools and there money.

The clearest explanation of the problem, according to The Motley Fool, comes from Hornady Manufacturing's president, Steve Hornady:

"People walk into the store, they don't see as much as they want so they take everything they can get. The next guy who comes in can't get anything, so he panics."[15] [this shortage] is purely a consumer driven shortage.

All other calibers are the same price or cheaper than 3 years ago except .22

Fucking stupid!

Yup, you nailed it... Between people hoarding for the sole purpose of saying: "I have more than you" and the flippers, prices wll not be going down anytime soon.. I go to my local club/range every weekend during the summer. Nobody is shooting .22 people will brag about how much they have, but to me it is pointless to have any type of ammo if you are not shooting it
