If they actually release the net attachment, I'll buy one on that same day.

have a similar golfball (only) launcher upper and the $25 screw on the muzzle golfball launcher, they are both a lot of fun! this past sunday, 2 AR'S, bunch of blanks and a $10 bag of used golf balls from amazon kept us laughing until beer thirty and it was time to put some bambi on the grill. then it kept kids occupied picking up balls in the fallow part of my field! damages golfballs but most of them can usually be shot again! so if you are on the fence, get the $25 launcher then when you see how much fun it is upgrade to one of these dedicated uppers or one similar...
btw as expected, the dedicated upper version is more accurate further before the golfball starts to corkscrew...

The muzzle-brake style golf ball cup launchers have absolutely execrable QC, so they don't align properly w/ the bore; not a big deal if you only use it with one rifle all the time, you'll adjust to the offset ["Ready, aim... hold off 15deg left; fire!"] but the _properly aligned_ dual can- & golf ball-launching capabilities of this upper make it more appealing despite the substantially higher cost...

It depends upon your definition of "better:" yes, it's less expensive. It's also *just* a soda-can launcher, w/ the less-complicated and easier to make single, large launcher tube, vs. the posted deal which is for the dual-launcher [soda can & golf ball tubes.] For an extra $12, I find the dual-tube option far more compelling.

Also for some reason f5mfg charges $12.50 shipping PER ITEM. Adding the golf ball launcher and some blanks to your order bumps the shipping from 12.50 to 37.50 which is just ridiculous.

Thanks for that info, it's very useful!

Can anyone here explain the relationship between F5 and X-products? They seem to share very similar products and designs. Their drum mags are almost identical. Is F5 a spin-off attempt by x-products to distance themselves from their old ceo’s Anti-2a stance?

F5 says they're the OEM for X-products, iirc.

I think that's a pretty safe bet, but have no way to confirm or deny your hypothesis. It may be more of a "tiered" marketing ploy [a la' Ford/Mercury/Lincoln, etc] where the F5 products are a little less fancy vs. the X Products line, & then released a bit later [to snare all the buyers w/ poor impulse control w/ the higher-priced line,] etc? Either way, I'm not complaining, the F5 line has MUCH better price points...

What's the length on the bigger barrel? ATF wouldnt consider that a SBR would they?

This was all thrashed out years ago when X-Products brought out their can launcher upper. The actual barrel is obstructed, so you can't fire a live round through it, ergo, not a firearm even when attached to an AR-15 lower & therefore not subject to restriction regardless of the actual barrel length. The can launcher tube is not a "barrel" per se, since it can't sustain regular firearm operating pressures [even shotguns run well over 5k psi, which is almost 2x the air pressure in a standard SCUBA tank.] IANAL, nor do I play one on tv, but that's the basic treatment of these devices by BATFE as I understand it.

I like the combo that F5 has come up with of the removable golf-ball launcher tube within the soda can tube because I live near a driving range & constantly find stray golf balls in the gutter as I ride by on my bike; free launcher fodder! I don't drink soda, but can appreciate something capable of netting low flying drones that might be making a nuisance of themselves. Now just have to get the reloading setup to make my own blanks... ;-)

EDIT: To address your question more directly, it appears that the outer [can launcher] tube is long enough that if you measured from the end of the tube to the bolt face, it would be >16"; actual tube length is less, since it attaches to the upper a couple of inches ahead of the rear end of the barrel stub that houses the cartridge.

Rainier gives a LEO and Military discount. Took around 8 bucks off which covered the shipping. We will see.
