Have any of you owners noticed trigger slap? I owned a B6P that was painful to shoot because of trigger slap.

This thing goes from $256 to $290 and all you have to do to get there is nothing. Then you get to add transfer fees. We all got to make a buck, but why go through all the baloney to get to the real price?

Favor to ask,........if someone here who owns this gun and a scale could weigh this gun with an EMPTY mag in it that would be appreciated.

I seem to have misplaced my original baseplate, but the Mec-Gar CZ-75B mag with plus 2 baseplate installed (adds a few grams probably) weighs 98 grams. The pistol weighs 764g for a total of 862g with empty mag.

Much thanks DJ, I wonder if the spec weight above is supposed to include an empty mag. If not the weight is WAY off.

If you like Pot Metal guns. I would rather know what my pistol was made of, before depending on it to save my life and my friends and family. These guns are not made from the same steel as most of our American and German guns, include Austrian Italian, "some" and others. You don't want something that is made of some substance that may function until it doesn't one day.
It's not something to save a buck on.
Again it may be good but I would need to see what it was made from, if it was vut and milled from a solid Billet of steel or Aluminum , you want to know that first.

If you have no idea about the gun's metallurgy and do not own one yourself on what basis do you say "These guns are not made from the same steel as most of our American and German guns, include Austrian Italian, "some" and others"

Btw, this is an Italian gun.

Gee, thanks for all the valuable input from someone who doesn't own one. I have both the Witness P (made by Tanfoglio in Italy) frame with the 9mm and 22LR Slides. Fit finish and quality is excellent, no quality issues at all, above average trigger, wide availability of mags from either CZ or MecGar, fits hand very well with natural point of aim, flawless performance with any ammo. But, it doesn't have GLOCK printed on the side so I guess it must be junk.

This detail might matter to some,.....since this is a polymer CZ 75 clone many are under the impression the design is the same, it's not. Unlike an actually CZ 75 where the slide completely contacts the length of the frame videos of this model show four points of contact like a Glock.

Four points of metal to metal contact is correct but the real issue is how low the bore to sight axis is, like the CZ. Compared to most other semiauto guns whose slides ride totally on top of the frame, the spring and rod on this gun rides down inside the frame, so the frame rail grooves are midway up the slide, above the spring assembly, instead of on the bottom of the slide with everything above the frame/slide contact point. That midway up/down relative positioning of the frame to slide contact points provides the accuracy and recoil benefits

KCSteve, you are preaching to the choir. Minor point of contention,.....the low bore axis helps with recoil/muzzle flip. It does not address accuracy. Four points of contact vs. full contact lends itself to more play where the slide and frame meet. Yes, this difference may be small but it's not non-existent. This is also a reason why the blowback design lends itself to better accuracy, the barrel does not move.

Had a chance to fondle this gun at Sportsman's Guide's retail outlet store yesterday. Felt great in the hand, no rattles to speak of, decent trigger and sights. At this price it seems like a huge bargain.

This is the b6p. There's two different skus for the same model number, small frame and large frame. The small frame takes cz75 mags but is basically only a 9mm. The large frame takes special mags but has more aftermarket support and can be changed to any reasonable caliber.

No, this is not a B6P. It is a Tanfoglio Witness P, imported by European American Arms from Italy, with the 4.5" 9mm barrel which is the most typical configuration, but there are multiple slides that fit this frame (referred to as the small frame versus the much older large frame predecessor). I got mine as a combo deal from Buds with both the 3.75" 9mm and the 4.5" 22LR uppers with this exact Witness P(olymer) frame that takes CZ/Mecgar CZ75 mags. A slide/barrel for .40 is available too. Product description is 100% accurate.

The B6P is a Turkish made clone, this is the small frame Witness (999244). The large frame model number is 999104.

This price is 10 dollars less than I paid for my pistol. When you think about it what is the price of anything? In our business of firearms we do not know why certain guns are highlighted, discounted, pushed, for a good price. It is a quality, full sized pistol at a good price.I do not get excited about a firearm thats priced at 1000 dollars! That's crazy!!! The real question is how low a price on a high quality handgun, rifle, or shotgun, we can get.I love gun.deals talk it up all the time.Keep up the good work, keep posting.

I hear that the near identical B6P has a better DA trigger? Anybody have both?

{edit}
SG says B6P doesnt take CZ75B mags...huh? ...will havve to check that further

B6P doesn't have a rail for a light...I intend to use for truck gun...no rail is an issue

You should try asking the same question at the CZ Clone Owners Forum to find someone who has both clones. The trigger on this gun is very good and definitely has a rail with two mounting positions. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?board=27.0...

I agree with everyone else, these are stellar. And with an hour of work (just polishing, no geometry changes) and 20 bucks worth of springs you can make the sa pull pretty smooth and in the low 3lb area. My only gripes are the trigger slap and having trouble finding a good holster for action shooting. Don't the trigger job really helped the slap, but it's still there for me.

I picked up this model a year ago now for just over $260 shipped. It is a great gun at an excellent price. Why do they continue selling them so cheap? I don't know, but if people keep talking them up, the price will jump. These should be easily $400+ as they have outshot every plastic full size 9mm I've played with up to twice as expensive as this one is.
The fit, finish and machining asked about below are all good to great in quality, the sights were dead nuts on out of the box for me (there are some people online that have an issue with them shooting low, but I can hit a silhouette consistently at 100yds unsupported. Trigger is a bit heavy in double action (duh), but single action is quite good (really, almost unbelievable for the price). I have had no issues with the stock mag, or the Mec-Gar CZ-75B mags both before I modified them to hold 20rds and after. I have had one failure to fire with cheap BrassMaxx ammo (fired on the second trigger pull), but of the 6 other brands I've used and a thousand plus rounds, no other issues.
I like to describe it as a really low end competition gun and it is probably the best bang for you buck. You really are doing yourself a disservice by not buying one at this price!

Another Owner Here and I agree completely. I have two clones, the Italian Tanfoglio Witness P 9mm and its Turkish cousin, the much heavier all steel Canik Stingray, and both are incredible bargains for quality fit, finish and function. Accuracy is very good, recoil tame, reliability proven by the CZ design and take CZ Mags. The bonus for the Witness is you can get a .22 Slide for cheap and much quieter plinking.

I think I shot my friend's gun, it has an incredible trigger! very crisp single action and amazingly light double action, I feel shame for my cajunized SP01 for it, at this price, you could not ask more! ... except the looks lol

I own this model, the fit and finish is top notch. This is a current production pistol. It is the P-S model. It is called full size small frame. It is supplied with one 17 round magazine. You can purchase replacement magazines on CDNNSPORTS for 16.99. Great price, don't hesitate buy it!

How are the CDNNSPORTS mags working out for you?

Thank you. Besides the single mag I'd love to know why the pistol's MSRP is roughly $200 less that the full-size pistols which are listed on their site here:

Can anyone comment on this gun's machining and fit and finish? I'm curious as to what the negatives of this model might be besides only coming with one mag.

Also, this model is not on EAA's site. Anyone know why?

Not sure why. it's on buds and cheaper than dirt though with good reviews.

Love this pistol. I have the 3.5 inch version that also came with .22 conversion slide and clip. It's my cheapest pistol by far but you can't tell when shooting. Accurate and reliable plus there's a ton of clip options. I actually the look of 3.5 inch version a little better but all around great fun...

If you watch buds they have the combo for around $350. So your basically getting two guns for that price. The .22 works very well except bolt doesn't lock back on last round.

+1 To everything you said
I got the 3.5" 9mm/4.5" 22LR Combo for $355 at Buds too, its an incredible bargain versus buying the Witness, immediately discovering its a keeper and then adding a Conversion kit for $150-200. I like the look of the shorter slide too. BTW, the 22 functions fine with much quieter subsonic SV ammo

I bought one of these from a different seller, but wanted to chime in about the pistol. For the price, it's a great value. Trigger is plenty good in SA. Very comfy in hands.

The factory mag it came with is prone to jamming, and loading to full capacity and using HP ammo made it worse. FMJ runs ok, but still get a few jams occasionally. The rounds nose dive, I think it's the mag spring, very soft in mine.

I ordered 2 new mags from Mec-Gar. The gun never jams no matter what ammo with either of them. The follower is a bit different, the top of the mag is configured a little different, and the mag spring is much stronger. Not sure which difference makes it work, or if it's all three, but I would advise anyone buying this pistol to order aftermarket mags with it. Lots of ppl have had issues with the factory mags.

At this price point, though, it's still a great bargain even when adding in the cost of the extra mags. Get the full size small frame Witness P Mec-Gar mags.

I bought one from CDNN awhile back and will tell you right now , This is an awesome weapon. Made in Italy , the trigger is excellent for a gun in this price range , 16rds +1 capacity, based of a cz-75 platform , fit and finish is very good , and they function flawlessly ( eats everything ).

Outstanding gun, especially considering the price. Also, I just found that CZ-75 SP-01 mags work in this gun as I just acquired a Shadow Target model. The Mec Gear mags work also. I have two 19 rd mags Item# MGCZ7519AFC

https://www.44mag.com/product/mec-gar_optimum_cz_9mm_magazine_19_round/cz_magazines...

So the 3 factory 18 round mags that came with My SP-01 Shadow Target all work with this model EAA Witness, as do the 2 Mec-Gar 19 rounders!
