I bought the all stainless commander sized version a few years ago. Now that its broke in, no problems at all with it. Very nice gun. fit is almost perfect. I don't see many differences between it and my Desert Eagle undercover as far as fit. I paid 400 shipped back then.

How are your groups with the shorter barrel? I think my sights are off.

I have had mine for about 3 months and shot 150 rounds aluminum case and 25 brass. I have about 9 different guns so if it was my only gun I am sure round count would be 500. It is very sturdy. All black nitride looking finish like an ar15. Easily disassembled by hand. Lifetime warranty but must pay for your own shipping. 1911’s are pretty simple to understand and repair though. If it ever did have any trouble I am sure I can fix it myself or get a local to fix it for very cheap. Seeing how every single part is metal on this gun, I doubt anything is going to wear out any time soon. Wish I got the version without the safety and bottom rail because I will never use it. All though it makes the gun look more badass and helps resell value. I had a couple failure to feeds with the aluminum ammo but I still am well under any 1911s break in period as far as round count goes. No failure to fires or failure to ejects. Factory mag is nicer than any mag I have seen in a 1911 to date. Ships in a hard box that is custom fit for the 1911, and includes a cleaning brush and lock. All in all this has been a solid sub 500$ handgun. I would highly recommend brass only for this gun. Havent tried steel but it seemed to dislike the aluminum casings

What 1911 model did you see that doesn't have the safety (thumb and grip)?

Every 1911 has a model that comes without a slide safety and bottom rail. Its nothing new. Also it is the most affordable model usually. What I have is the mc1911s RESERVE. Reserve being the key word. The mc1911s with no reserve in its name is the one without a slide safety and bottom rail. I never once mentioned the grip safety, which most people dont consider a safety to begin with. Anyhow here is the link https://dahlonegaarmory.com/product/eaa-girsan-mc1911s-45acp-5-govt-blk-etc...

Guess I've ahead good luck then. All three pistols I've bought over the past 5-6 years have all been good budget shooters. Obviously not custom, top of the line hand fitted pistols but for the price are good guns.
Never had any issues or a need for customer service.
This is my opinion and experience. You will have your own. I will respect that. Please return the favor?!

Girsan quality is hit and miss. The warranty sucks because you must pay shipping BOTH ways. Buyer beware!
