I personally hate it for many reasons...... They are the closest, best, dealer for some of my fishing rods, etc... And, I have bought several guns, and a boatload of ammo from them in the past.... No more... I'm sure a lot of people didn't hear about it but all you have to do is Google it. All in all, this year/election is going to be very interesting to say the least. WE are eventually gonna have to take a stand, and this is a very good place to start. Also, as a result of what Academy did, Daniel Defense has terminated they're contract with Academy, and will no longer allow then to sell their products! I'd say that Daniel Defense deserves one he'll of a big Oorah for doing so, and can honestly say that they are definitely one company WE should be supporting!

I totally agree w/Dport on this. I will never darken the doors of Academy Sports again.

I'm hoping whoever posted this deal will wake up and realize that ALL gun owners, enthusiasts, etc should stop dealing with Academy sports, period, after the crap they pulled following the shooting in Orlando. For the people that don't know what they did..... they pulled all their "scary assault rifles" off the shelves and hide them..... they still sell them, but they're just hidden to keep from offending anyone, etc... Academy is also going to require an ID for anyone that is purchasing 10 boxes or more of any caliber of ammo they deem to be an assault rifle caliber, so they can keep a permanent database of ammo purchases! WE are all in this together and we have got to really start supporting the companies/stores that care about our 2nd ammendment rights; at the same time, we have got to stop supporting the one's, like Academy, they are not completely, 100% committed to preserving our rights as gun owners! I hated their decision to do this as Academy sports was one of my favorite stores, but WE have ALL got to get on board and do the RIGHT thing, money aside, or one day, in the not too distant future, we will no longer have any 2nd ammendment rights! Shame on you, whoever posted this deal, anyone that liked it, or still deals with Academy anymore! Your continued patronage is helping the very people that want to disarm you, me, and everyone else!

I don't think JamesS and mark are going to stop posting crappy deals anytime soon.

That is unbelievable! i don't have an academy in my area, but I have bought online in the past. The main reason I even know about Acadmy is because Hickock 45 promotes them on YouTube. I hope he stops after this bs.

Since im the tinkering type, i'd get this, a 20-24" ss barrel and an upper with cover and such, then rebarrel the 16" to the covered upper and then mount the longer barrel to the target-type upper here... not the cheapest way, but sure sounds fun... Otoh experience has taught me to buy the gun as you want it, 'cause mods usually cost more.

I was going to build one (bought a lower and parts kit)...even with discounts from brownells and an upper for 160...I would spend 200 more than this.

I would wait for tbr 869 oracle to come back in stock...well worth the 40 for dust cover and forward assist

For not much more you can find the dpms lr-b, free floated barrel bird cage muzzle brake and feel sturdier, better rifle imho. I own it and love it keep in mind though these wont run steel cased ammo so figure around 60cpr, if i had to do it again i would have bought the 24inch stainless version

This is as low as I remember them ever being, don't think they will go much lower.
