And the price will continue to increase everyday for at least six months months or more as of right now. It's probably 500 by now.

Correction: Gunbuyer had Oracle's for $400 this morning, but when I went to order, the price had increased to $437.

Without shipping would be a great deal. Grabagun has a better deal.

I could be mistaken but isn't the Grabagun deal for the "lite" aka sportster model?

I think you missed the point. Being shipping is not always a static number that stays the same however is calculated by many vendors, using an "out the door" half the time could create confusion....and people like you would undoubtedly complain. I have learned during my 35 orbits around the sun that if something is not near me, I might need to pay a fee if I want that item's location to change. Shipping like tax is not always a one size fits all number therefore is not always spoon fed to you, nor should you expect it to be. Are you the guy who also complains when they do not add the tax stamp into the price of NFA items?

I might be asking too much from you, if someone has trouble with 399 + 19.99 = 419.99 expecting them to understand my point could be a lost cause ;)

Sorry your point was lost in your tirade about food and gas.
Obviously if shipping is not a known value it can't be calculated into the price, nor should a definitive value be added to the title as was done here in that case.

I wouldn't say "lost" but emphasized in the tirade ;)

To JoeSixpack,

That asshole vendor also forgot to include the FFL fee, the gas to get to the FFL, the cost of oil / cleaning solution to prep this for the first range trip, gas to get to the range, the initial ammo to get this sighted in, sights / scope of some kind, a beverage and snack while you are at the range, gas to get back home, more supplies to clean the gun afterwards, a stamp plus an envelope to get the rebate, gas to drive the rebate check to the bank, a license to prove who you are to the bank, etc.....do I need to break it down further or are you starting to grasp the basics? Sorry shipping and handling fees are alien to you but UPS does not pay the bills with warm, fuzzy thoughts and many companies choose to pass that fee on as they are actually in the resale business for a profit. I too prefer not to pay S/H but I am not shocked it might come into play. Hope me and a few other adults on this site helped you understand this....

Wonderful and thoughtful rant!

Um.. I think you missed my point.
It was simply the formatting of the title not the actual cost that was my peeve, that's all.

For someone scrolling thru the days deals it's more efficent to put the final to the ffl cost first.. example since 19.99 shipping is a known value.. it's fixed and can be calculated, FFL fee's for example can not as it varies wildly.

A much better title would have been
"DPMS Panther Oracle, 223, 16" - 343.99 AR"
OR
"DPMS Panther Oracle, 223, 16" - 343.99 Shipped AR"

You could put the particular math behind that if you want.. but it can easily be broken down in the deal.
Anyone scrolling that will easily be able to see what the final cost would be and can quickly dismiss it or investigate for details.

The AR post price means After Rebate, The rebate amount sometimes matters EX: 10k dollar rebate on a 500 dollar gun (lunacy) but on other deal site is usually not vital to know the exact amount prior to opening up the deal for further study.

It's impossible to put every detail in the title as some deals are complex to pull off, so don't even try, instead go for brevity.

The way the current title is fine it's just not optimal.. it requires me to do a little math and pay more attention to the title.. If im scrolling 100 deals that kinda time adds up.

Grabagun has a model that comes with 3 mags and is upc works for the rebate. Ordered it the other day and it was 426 all said and done

Says $419 when I go to the site, not $399

They raised the price by twenty dollars. It is now 419 on their website. I was on the fence at 399, but add an extra 20 plus shipping and transfer fee on my end, now I think I will pass.

After it posts the title gets updated. I'm assuming by a mod so that all posts are the same.

Good price but a little misleading at first glance.
Final price is 345 after you factor in shipping and rebate.

0 votes
0 votes

In what way is the price misleading? It's clearly spelled out right there in the thread title.

0 votes

you should always put the final price in a deal.
See at first glance you see 324, it's fine to put all the math break down in the title but it takes longer to decide if you wanna investigate a deal when you have to fully read the pricing.
that 20 dollars shipping DOES make a difference in the deal in the end.

In this case it should have bottom lined as (345 shipped AR)

You're just being silly now. All the info and the shipping cost are right there in one well-written sentence.

You've wasted more time complaining than it takes to do the math you wanted done for you. 399-75+19.99=$343.99 shipped AR. The way the OP wrote his title you know how much you're spending up front, how much to expect back in rebate and the shipping cost.

Or are you just pulling my leg??? :-) I'm sure we both have better things to do with our time.

dude YOU asked for clarification, and you got it.
On other deal sites you want the final cost clear in the title, the rebates and shipping are secondary concerns that can be left in description if need be.

It aid's in dismissing deals when you're scanning them.
The title is perfectly passable just not optimal for a deal listing.

Is this the only deal site you visit or do you seriously not understand what im talking about?

Not exactly what I wanted to my first ar but can't pass it up for that price.

Grabagun sent out an email last night and this morning advertising it linking the website above so hopefully should be good. Remington has the 870 with a $60 rebate and worst thing is I just bought one last week..

Wow, just make sure DPMS accepts online purchases for the rebate. Alot of companies ONLY ACCEPT ORIGINAL register receipts.

Is this hbar or not
Heavy barrel or not

0 votes
0 votes

No I don't think this is an HBar you can tell by the proportion of the flash suppressor to the barrel. Looks like its a standard profile to me and doesn't have the grenade launcher cutout. If you're looking for a DMPS HBar I think you need to get the Panther Carbine or similar.

Bought mine around Christmas for 579. This is a steal

Damn bought mine pre election for $419 and thought that was a steal. I am no pro, but this is a great firearm. Never had any issues. Kept mine wet and ran all kinds of ammo. Prices will continue to drop and everything. If dpma AR 10 comes down to 5 or under i am in.
