Got this 2 years ago for $115 after FFL. Cheap and reliable are not mutually exclusive

I bought one of these last year on a Black Friday special from SG, paid something like $135 with GUNSNGEAR code with free shipping. After $25 to my FFL I was $160 into a decent pump for home defense. Some thoughts: At 6lbs this thing is LIGHT and you're going to feel it with slug or bird shot. I added a Pachmayer decelerator slip on recoil pad from Amazon for $15 to make it easier on my 60 year old shoulder. It's a joy to shoot now. Got about 250 rds through it with a combination of slug, bird and 00 buck with zero issues or malfunctions. With the recoil pad the 00 buck feels like a .22 almost. I oil up a snake and pull it through every 50 rds. Great little shotgun IMO.

That is why I like the other version with the pistol grip. You can take a lot of that kick away by holding it tightly in your trigger hand. Love mine. Paid $175 + FFL fee. I've put about 30-40 rounds through it so far. No problems.

The price is now 199.99 before the code. However, the available date is 3/19/2021. The expected ship date for the order is till at 2/28/21. Hope they will ship the order soon.

The price on gundeals is $160.00 but when I got to buy it it was$180.00 so which is it ?
Is this bait and switch???ok you tell me!

I think it's because you failed to read the entire listing. Had you not failed to do that, you would've read that you need to enter coupon code 'GUNSNGEAR' which is good for $20 off.
Unfortunately you spent time crying on here instead of slowing down and reading the actual listing itself.

WARNING!!!!DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! ordered the Dickson shotgun a few months for $180.00, they sent me a email saying their was a GLITCH! that the price is now $299.00 and they wont ship it out till APRIL!!! the ole BAIT&SWITCH I didn't mind waiting for the shotgun which should have done been here, because I didn't really need it, but for the price I was willing to wait a month and a half because it was a cool looking shotgun. they advertise one price make you wait then increase the price and wait time....needless to say I cancelled my order and will never do business with them again, If you need to gouge the price then just put it up front, those who will buy will buy. very bad business practice by Sportsman guide

If a person needs a home defense weapon or a good truck gun then you really cant go wrong with one of these. They are decent home defense weapons.

yep!! they just did it to me after waiting a month and a half they jacked the price up by a $100 bucks and 3 months to be shipped out

Sportsman dudes are the biggest charlatan scammers. I think they make their money by subscriptions, which allows members to save money, on things that NEVER show up. I signed up for a free trial early October for CCI .22LR segmented ammo. Few weeks later they said the ammo was delayed but coming. Then a week or two later they canceled the order. I canceled the subscription but was a little late according to customer service. So after several weeks of waiting I paid for a year subscription and I’m not even a member

Sportsman's guide are scumbags they might ship you your gun but if you have a backorder of ammo it will get cancelled after waiting months good thing I have always stayed well stocked but man that's low canceling backordered ammo and still charging shipping because they sent one item I had ordered on the list that was in stock so I'm out shipping and no ammo

I don't know why you're giving SPG lip service! I've been a member for over 20 years and think their prices are fine, especially some of the military surplus and the clearance items. Customer service is excellent! When you renew your $39.95 membership you get 2~$10 certs to use for future purchases. I bought 3 of these shotguns and they all work great, no problems. Of course everybody has a different experience. The best deal with SPG is their no-interest 4-Pay Plan with membership. Using the 4-PP made the cost for some of my pricey S&W wheelers easier on the wallet by stretching out payments!

I have two Marine finish ones not a problem with either one of them and finish on them is pretty awesome depending on the size of the shell where are you get for five if you do it right now I’ve got five and a mini shell that’s what I have init right now both of them for anyone who wants to feel it ... LOL and I have a third one ordered now to but it’s blue they don’t have them in Marine finish damn good shot gun for the price ! Made in turkey same people make Weatherby in Turkish it’s almost same gun actually never had a problem with them obviously my blue shotgun has been on backorder for a month and a half now scheduled to ship 5-28-20 that sucks but hay at $38 buck a month 4-3 months with $78 down tax’s paid I’m cool

Weatherby is made by Miroku in Japan.
TriStar is the one made in Turkey.

I had a Tristar it was the first shotgun I ever bought and the biggest piece of garbage. The type of shotgun you toss in the river after you are done. Sold that shit to a congressman for $200

You’re right the rifles are made in Japan if I’m not mistaken their shotguns are made in turkey though I could be wrong but Will look into it nowwa

Great, cheap 12ga. Shot 100 rounds of target loads without issue. No change in color like someone had mentioned. I painted the front blade sight orange to help pick up quicker visually. Rubber stock butt pad really makes shooting pretty comfortable. I’m very happy

Willy, you use the sights on a 12ga. tac shotgun? There's a reason it's nicknamed a 'scatter gun'! ;-)

I own one and it does what it should, but I only have like 50 rounds through it. Had it for about 2 years now and it hasn’t turned blue like someone mentioned. Just look at the YouTube videos, this is a good gun.

This Dickinson Commando pumpgun came to me from SG with no papers/receipt at all - just a gun in a case.
50 shots later the slide release latch broke.
Their warranty service never responded to my request.
Very disappointing, isn't it?
That's my worst experience with the guns so far.

Can't recommend SG anymore, since they increased their customers they have stopped real deals like free shipping on ammo and are basically overpriced now with club fees and no real deals. Starting to remind me of CTD. I will not renew my membership anymore. Cabela's free shipping deals are better than SG now.

No 'real deals' anymore? Last year I bought all of the MRAP (NIB-[new in box]) complete front headlight assemblies on SPG's military surplus clearance that they had (100) for $5 each with free S&H (my UPS guy hated me!). These exact same assemblies retail for $400 each on several automotive sites! I sold all of them to friends to use on their desert toys and trophy trucks at $25 each...wooohooo!! Did the same thing on some Butler Creek men's camo jackets for $20, retail was $89!...yeah, no real deals at all...none.

The finish on these sucks they turn bright blue in couple months but other than that it works flawless after break in just keep it oiled up and it runs forever

Capacity depends on ammo type. From a buyer on sportsman guide: "The magazine will hold 5 shells plus one in the chamber (5+1) when loaded with 2.75" shells and it will hold 4 shells plus one in the chamber (4+1) with 3" magnum shells. It will also hold two magnum shells and three standard shells in the magazine plus one in the chamber. Hope this helps."

Cabella's sells the Dickinson guns, their most expensive one is $2300. They are a good company with a good reputation. This is just their low end model just like Weatherby has the low-end $200 shotguns.

He doesn't know what he's talking about these are solid guns Dickinson has been around a long time and make quality products. We carry them in my store they make high end beautiful custom guns as well they really know what they are doing and the owners are dead set on quality. Dont be hesitant at all if you're looking fir a good security or Deer Gun...

Not sure how good of deer gun this would be with an 18" barrel, but it would be a great home defense shotgun, especially with a 5+1 capacity....but then again, the INFO section says 4+1. Still, not bad...

This would work better as a 6lb sledgehammer. Wouldn't trust a $150 gun to do much.

Mine runs great, I'd run it against a Mossberg any day. Brand names aren't everything.

I have 2, over 300 rds on both, hunting pigs, rabbits and plinking. I did not clean them for the first 200 rds, i wanted to make them fail for the warranty, but they still like new.

Dickinson has been around a long time and makes quality products, this is as good as Mossberg 88 but not charging for Mossberg name. Its a good behind the door gun or a cheap Deer gun.
