Is this for a gen2? It looks like it but doesn't specify.

It’s not “mostly Gen 1 Guns”. These are complete shit. And to say the customer service is great is a fucking lie. Especially considering you have never dealt with their customer service otherwise you would realize how stupid you sound sucking their udders. I had two examples. Both were shit. And don’t tell me about limp wristing or break ins. My daily carry is a Kahr CM40. Almost 4,000 rounds. No malfunctions. Get fucked!

You are entitled to express your opinion, but not to question mine, call me a liar, question my integrity, and finally use profanity. I have three different DB products (DB9, DB15 Pistol, and DB15 Carbine, all have proven reliable and I have interfaced with their customer service multiple times and was impressed with their "make the customer happy" attitude. Those are facts.

I misread this, I thought it was $9.99 for the gun and $17.99 for shipping, which made sense.

My EDC, my 1year old Gen II DB9 has been reliable with 115Gr FMJ and JHP Brass, Lifetime Warranty and excellent customer service if you happen to get one that wont run but most of the bad reviews are from Gen I guns. Carrying an 11 oz 9mm vs most subcompact competitors in the 17-22oz range is a night and day difference that results in carrying a lot more often. My prior carry was a LC9s equipped with tritium sights and laser and its gathering dust these days unless I am carrying IWB. Meanwhile the DB9 rides in the back pocket of my jeans or cargo pocket of shorts far more often. For under $200, there isnt much risk as you could always sell it for that if you dont like it and decide to move up to a different gun thats over 50% heavier. The only one even close to it in weight is the Keltec PF9, which I have owned and is no more reliable than the DB9 in my direct experience, as all super lightweight 9s will be susceptible to limp wristing due to the mass (lack of) of the slide absorbing recoil. FYI, there is no slide catch or safety on this firearm as those are metal parts that would have added to its overall weight putting it right about even with the PF9 that has a slide catch but a very long DAO Trigger vs the Striker Fired trigger of the DB9 which is way better.

Just received my db9 this morning and headed straight to the local range. I fired about 15 mags worth of Federal American Eagle 115 grain with ZERO issues. I even tried limp wristing it to force a FTF but the gun performed regardless.

I was fully prepared to have to upgrade the mag spring and polish the feed ramp, but it appears all that will be unnecessary. At least for now.

Looks cheap but what the heck I'll try it out I could use a second 9mm just for range shooting

At $166 from Four Winds, why not? It might just end up being your best friend too, and if it doesn't, great service from DB, Lifetime Warranty and can always get your $166 back selling it used.

My DB9 functioned well right out of the box with WWB and Fed Champion 115gr FMJs and after two hundred rounds of break in 115gr JHPs as well. It rides in the back pocket of my jeans daily, something I cant do with my Ruger LC9s, SCCY CPX2 or former Keltec PF9. With experience carrying all of them on a daily basis, the 11oz size of the DB9 is what makes it my all time favorite. DB says no more than 124gr ammo and no plus P which I think is good advice in such a lightweight pistol. Lifetime warranty, DB's customer service is excellent if it breaks or doesn't function correctly, and this price is a steal even if you normally carry something bigger but want something for gym short days.

Spoke too soon. From 51 to round 125 it jammed badly with ftf. Sent it back, they replaced all 3 of the magazine springs with extra stiff and longer. Also claimed to have polished the feed ramp. Shot 25 rounds without problem. Seems to be a magazine spring issue, which I had read in the db forum

Love my db9ss! Got lucky and it has not jammed yet after rounds!

Anybody know where to get magazines for these DB9's? Has Diamondback discontinued this model? They aren't even any magazines listed on the Diamondback site and there aren't any on GunBroker.

This isn't as big of a good deal as I thought if you can't get magazines for them.

I called Diamond back. They told me they are getting more mags in about 6 weeks.

Never shot one but if the reliability is/were there, this would be the ultimate pocket 9mm.

hey should make a modified version and call it gen 2. It just had too much bad press. No one is going to trust it.

Agreed with others - too much water under the bridge to risk good money on a DB. Does anyone know if they even upgraded their barrel steel? The older models weren't rated for +p ammo? Not that it's a great idea out of a mouse gun, but it's nice to have options I always say.

Agreed with the others. These guns always felt great in the store, and their size/weight would certainly make for an excellent EDC in the micro-size. But I just know of too many people who have had problems that it's just not worth the risk at the price point. I'd take a Kel-Tec or LCP over this in a heartbeat, especially since those are not that much more expensive. For something you need when you're life it on the line, $40-50 more for a much more polished product should be a no-brainer!

It's too bad that these receive so many mixed reviews, because they would make an excellent carry gun. I looked at one along with an LCP and a Bodyguard at a local gun shop, and the Diamondback felt so much better in the hand than the LCP and Bodyguard, and it's only slightly larger. I ended up going with a Sig Sauer P290RS, but if these DB9's had a better reputation, I would definitely be carrying one right now.

Same as their .380, awesome feeling guns just might not go bang when you ask it to. I feel like it is magazine related but who knows. Really good price on this one though

What's the status regarding reliably now? I saw that changing the mag spring and doing a good polishing job on the feed ramp greatly reduces feeding problems. I would like to buy one of these but I'm on the fence about the gun, just as reviews seem to be. Amy comments?
