Description

Item Number: 47919
Diamondback Firearms is proud to present the DB380, a micro-compact .380 automatic pistol made entirely in the USA. Designed with safety in mind, the DB380 features a "ZERO-Energy" striker firing system (patent pending) with a mechanical firing pin block, a steel magazine catch to secure a sheet metal magaine and real windage-adjustable sights, all in a lightweight pistol.
A steel trigger with dual connecting bars allows for a crisp smooth, five-pound DAO trigger pull. The DB380 features a FEA (Finite Element Analysis) designed slide and barrel that is stronger than any comparable firearm, resulting in durability with less felt recoil, and the absence of removable pins or tools makes field stripping easier than ever. The slide, barrel, and internal parts are coated to resist corrosion, making this pistol a lifetime investment.

+1 to that statement...

Or you could just flush your $200 down the toilet and save yourself the trouble of driving to a gun store, doing a background check, and wasting a few boxes of ammo.

These are crap, that's why they are half the price of all the rest. They have too many problems to list here. Short version is they suck. All of the store owners who started off psyced over these 5 years ago, ended up sending back the remainder to the company once word got around. The new one had different issues, still sucked, so why would you ever give them a 3d try?
It's your life do as you wish.

So has the Gen2 fixed the FTF problems this gun has been plagued with? @ this price I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about trying one. I love the look and accuracy is unreal for a gun this size from the videos I've seen.

Beware of this gun. The new gun is a DB380SL which is the new version that corrected the issues with the initial product. That's why this one is only $188. Be prepared to ship it back to the factory.

I got the Gen2 model. Not sure about the others that ordered but the one they shipped me has the upgraded hand grips and larger extractor. I'm excited to hit the range with it. Only complaint so far is it's VERY stiff clip release button. I can use it fine but it's almost impossible for my wife, who the gun is for.

So, what exactly are those issues? I have two first-generation DB380's and they seem to be just fine. I've shot quite a bit with them, although they are picky on which types of hollow points that they like--some work, some don't, but the ones that do are 100%.

I'm really tempted to pick up another one, except the new ones do look pretty cool.

Your experience is yours, mine is mine and one is a valid as the other. Even if you bought a brand new $800 Sig and it jammed and stove piped all the time, would you buy another one? Probably not. Maybe DB is on the learning curve that Keltec had to go on. If you are in the market this is certainly a great price but I think I'll pass on anymore DB products. I'm not the only one, check the online reviews.

Yeah, that's cool. I'm just asking. Failure to feed? Jams? I was just curious about what those "issues" were.

One of my DB380's will not feed certain hollow points AT ALL. Try to load a single hollow-point round and the slide jams up tight, with the hollow point jammed up against the feed ramp. Sometimes it's hard to even get the magazine our or the round dislodged. Is that what people are talking about? I just don't use that brand and I'm fine. It shoots others great. (In fact, just tonight I tried the exotic lead-free ammo Xtreme Penetrator from Lehigh Defense, which are known to have problems in some .380, but it fed wonderfully in one, and just so-so in the other.)

I'm not saying the first DB380's don't have problems, because I've heard that from many different sources. Oh well, I guess I just got lucky.

Thanks for the response.

They are neat little guns. Does anybody know how to tell if this is a Gen 2 that's been smoothed out and has the new roll pins that won't walk out? If so I might be tempted.

The issues you described are the ones I was talking about. Some of the youtube guys go as far as saying that ANY FTF is unacceptable to them but if it's only certain ammo that won't feed, I can live with that. I also ordered some extra mags from DB's web site. I'm thinking they might have improved on the mags, that sometimes fixes feed issues

OK. Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Perhaps being so used to .22 handguns that are ammo sensitive, I guess I'm just more tolerant. If some round doesn't work, I just try another brand. No big deal. If I find something that works really well, why bother with other brands?

Given that, maybe I'll give one of these a shot. Thanks!
