This 7.62 x 39 barrel is a medium profile barrel with a black nitride finish. The medium profile of the barrel gives you the accuracy you would expect from a heavy barrel but with some weight reduction so it isn't too heavy for hunting or competition shooting. The profile also helps with accuracy by reducing barrel whip as well as adding some weight up front which helps keep your muzzle down and on target. Since the surface of the steel is hardened during the nitride process, this barrel will last a lifetime.
