Lol, I love how dudes are getting all worked up over the price.
I’m sure most people are satisfied with the AR they have. This upper is aimed at the guy who wants a clone of a carbine used by USSOCOM. A MK18 MOD-1 is badass.

Not the advertised price. It was 750ish after said coupons were applied.

The coupon code takes an additional $95 off of the $770 sale price but it doesn’t eliminate the taxes or shipping.

Bought a little under $200. from them and I don’t care for their customer care one bit. First & Last time.

DD is overpriced garbage for people with less brains and more money.

But Muh SOCOM USES DDM4a1s! DD has been turning out the same mediocre, overpriced garbage for years. Their stocks and handgrips are a meme. And before I get accused of being a poor my EDC is a platinum-plated Laugo Arms Alien.

I’m here to see the fan boys comment and I haven’t been disappointed lol.

$400 worth of parts for just $850? What a deal. DD is out of their mind. Get one military contract and suddenly your shit don't stink.

4 votes

Wait it’s really only $400 worth of parts?! I don’t understand. Is DD bad? Have a few friends with DD rifles and they shoot great and obviously they’re sub moa

Lol, that guy is a dweeb who's pissed he can't afford this. DD is an upper-tier manufacturer. Their cold hammer forged barrels are top-notch and they make great parts at or above mil-spec quality, hence why they have military contracts. The rails in particular are even more expensive than the barrel which is strange, and I personally don't care to spend $350 on a rail, but this is a good product.

I had a m4a1 that I just sold because I thought it was a POS that keeps failing to eject. Couldn't keep it because I couldn't trust it in a home defense situation. So you can stop the whole people are too fkin poor to afford it business because that clearly isn't the case. What are you on DDs dick? The fk? What a moron

3 votes
3 votes

So you had issues with the rifle, but never contacted DD so they could try to resolve the problem?
And then you sold it to some other unsuspecting soul? And you are now here bashing the manufacturer?

Yeah, that about sums up your character enough for me.

yea i'd agree on the rails. I've used the STNGR rails and they are great. I also just received a Breek rail and installed, they are pretty dang nice for the price.

Is that not exactly what I said?

No DD isn't bad. They're great, they just think they're God's gift to earth. I'm more saying that you could build a similar upper with other brands for about half the price. Would it be "just as good" maybe not, put pretty damn close. This is just a barrel, upper and handguard. Doesn't even come with bcg.

Overrated and Overpriced. Only fanboys waste their money on DD crap.

yep, get palmetto that is your level!

At least he'll get a better barrel

2 votes
3 votes

No he won't. This upper has a rebadged FN chrome lined CHF barrel.
Personally I don't know of a better barrel unless you step up to the really spendy Lilja or Hart barrels ($400+).

2 votes

You can get a non rebadged Fn Cl barrel from palmetto state for half the price dd sells them for. Also dd barrels aren't FN

overpriced and severely out of date design. great to see all the dd tard fanbois defending their poor choices though

Clone builds are what they are: cool to have, and waaaay overpriced for what they are.

Can you elaborate on what features of this design are "out of date"? I have much to learn but I've never read anything about this being "outdated" in any of the reviews online. Thanks

Definitely not for the “Muh PSA and Anderson uppers are just as good” crowd.

Guys who buy these are into clone builds, and it’s the rail that costs you. Look up MK18 CQBR Block II and learn something.

PSA is for the guys that can hit a tin can at 150-200 yards.
The good stuff is for the guy (note singular) that can not only hit that can at 300 yards but hit it correctly on the lower right corner and flick the can up and left to hit another target with the can itself.
There's a reason DD is in business and doing well, just like Douglas, Shilen, Hart, Lilja, Noveske, Barrett, etc etc...
It's because there are guys that shoot better than you and need that little bit of extra accuracy and are more than willing to pay for it.
I don't see anyone trusting their life to a PSA shitburger rifle in a combat situation....not on this planet, not in this reality.

Hahahahahahahahaha... hopefully you've convinced yourself by now over what a colossal waste of money you've spent. Doesn't seem like it though!

Lmao, this guy. Military grade weapons are built by the lowest bidder, using mil spec material, and jam and malfunction all the time. You sound like a couch operator.

3 votes

Anyone shooting a tin can size targets past 200yards are going to buy a percision rifle most likely bolt action, most people with any common sense aren't buying a combat rifle like an ar15 for long range percise accuracy

"I don't see anyone trusting their life to a PSA shitburger rifle in a combat situation....not on this planet, not in this reality."

You'd never see that or any other rifle for that matter, you don't have a DD214 nor the guts to get one. I am sure you do a bang up job protecting that strip mall though.

So, my DD214 isn't a DD214 ?
Curious how you ascertain that.....hell I'm curious how you can manage to breathe and type at the same time (admit it, it's taxing on your limited mentality isn't it ?).

Nope, I doubt you are old enough to even get to a recruiting station without a parent to drive you. Oh yeah, you are that 60+ year old vet that didn't know what a Blue Label program was and says things like "Wipe your chin, my unborn children are dripping from it" when you get upset. If you are actually in your 60's (and not a child) that really speaks to your level of maturity. I could almost forgive a tween for that kind of comment but a grown 'man?' LOL. Sad

Look Soggy Marshmallow, time for your Cub Scout den meeting.

I always love how you bash others when they make "childish" insults and reply's at your comments. You are the first out of many to hurl childish insults and reply's before anyone else. You are quite hypocritical and need to take a look in a mirror. Your obviously a liberal and have that liberal mentality. Its ok for you to act childish or make problems however if anyone else does it, you start preaching about acting childish and how stupid they are, etc... its pure ignorant liberal hypocrisy. Whats good for one is not ok for another.
Just about everyone who comments and leaves opinions and experiences on here gets wrapped up in childish banter at times when something gets to you, including myself. But I am not gonna sit here and bash everyone else who engages in the banter while Im guilty myself. That is what you do....

I always think about getting one of these, they are in a class above, but then I realize that I really really like my own builds better than anything I can get factory. Going back to stupid gov profile, quad rail, just can't justify it after moving on to better and more modern components. Oh and 10.3 is tarded when there's 11.5

Fyi..... read into the q&a.... barrel and gas block are dimpled and have a set screw, normal assembled mk18 upper is staked. No thanks.
