so easy to pass on a DD AR10 and get a POF Revolution 308 or even a Scar heavy for the price especially after Marty Daniels decided to wipe his ass with the Bill of Rights, hope those Socom contracts are worth selling your soul pal

Daniel Defense........ why? I wonder what their logic was to support Fix Nics? Saddens me to see a staple of the black rifle community fold.

Hypocritical position on 2nd amendment. Went from saying a year ago The there would be “no compromise” to “David Hogg touched me with such love that I am now all for compromise.” I heard that David Hogg signed Daniel Defense’s Trapper Keeper.

The trigger, full ambi-lower, CH, barrel, and muzzle break are the easy differences when comparing this to $900 AR10. I will say you can build a nice Aero Precision M5E1 for around $1,100 if you know where to buy hardware. Ballistic advantage barrel, ambi safety, ambi mag release, raptor charging handle, NiC boron bcg and trigger. But agin it takes some shoooinh around and you have to build it. I actually prefer PWS in 308. I paid around $1,600 for both a Mk2 Mo1-m in 308 and one in 6.5. Thy are long stroke piston but I don’t think there’s a better large bore 308 made by manufacture for money. I hear he mention of Scar 17s. Great option but by the time I added geiselle trigger, and DA rail it’s WAY out of range from most AR10’s. A really underrated AR10 is the smith M&P10 with 18 inch barrel. You can find them for around $1050 and they are amazing guns. Kinda ugly but light, super accurate, ambi, and affordable.

There is no way anyone is selling new SCAR17s for $2600

Martyr_Machine! You comment the most idiotic things on every fucking post. You make me think you're some pedophile who sits in teen chat rooms and glances at guns in between kids. I honestly wish I could throat punch you.

JPo (aka Surfboy007) only likes S and W Sport II rifles. Don't pay attention to his other comments.

I am glad to know that I hurt your feelings.

The thing about bitching about someone else.... you end up telling everyone about more yourself than a person you never met and know nothing about.

You need help. Please never purchase a firearm. This is not the website for you.

These are great guns. I've got the DD5V2, the only difference is the barrel is 18 inches. The only thing I don't like is the proprietary coating on the bolt and carrier, it's pretty hard to clean.

It seems like a decent rifle but is it that much better than a $900 AR10?

Fundamentally? No differences.

I doubt there is anything close to a $1500 difference either, even once you consider the upgraded parts.

These boutique rifle makers are in big trouble. No one is buying $2000 ARs anymore.

Maybe nobody you know is, Daniel Defense makes a high quality firearm and people buy them. I'm sure you've never compared them side by side since walmart doesn't sell them.

People buy all kind of expensive stuff. That notion, in no way, speaks to the value of this particular rifle.

If you insist on an AR pattern gas gun, get an HK417. Otherwise, fork over the extra money and get a SCAR17.

Noveske, LaRue, LWRC, LMT, DD... all the boutique makers are no longer selling $2000 ARs like they were 2-3 years ago. It just isn't there. There are only so many people willing to spend that kind of money on an AR and that population is small. They aren't going to buy 2, 3, or more of them. Once they buy one, they are good.

They don't sell SCARs at wally world either. You probably already knew that though that since that is apparently where you look at guns.

LMFAO sure, just the same as a $900 ar10....aside from everything that makes it DD quality...trigger alone is a few houndred bucks...

If you had that kind of money to put on a 7.62 battle rifle, why not just get he SCAR-17S? it is superior to all these AR pattern gas guns.

Where are you gettin mg a 17s shipped for 2400?

They were going for a hair over that awhile back. I got mine for $2600 in a store after finding it advertised on gunbroker. Ended up being around $2900 with an extra couple factory mags and Texas sales tax.

So, not 2400 at all then...

$2600.

I could not have had it shipped to me without paying the sales tax since I was in TX....where it was shipping from. If I was out of state I would have only been paying FFL fee.

So yeah, $2600. And that is just one personal example. I have seen them cheaper than that many times.

But hey, if you want to save $100-$200 less to have an inferior firearm have at it. Doesn't really stand to reason to be thrifty though when you are already in it for $2400.

I can’t imagine they would be in stock longer than a few hours at that price
