A Caliber-Enhanced Skorpion Pistol

While the Czech Small Arms vz.61 Skorpion is one of the most interesting and popular military arms to emerge from the Czech Republic, many consumers complain about the reduced firepower of the 7.65mm offering.

With the launch of the new Czech Small Arms vz.61 Skorpion Makarov, the company offers the enhanced model chambered in the much larger 9x18 Makarov cartridge. Just like the 7.65mm offering, Czech Small Arms can make these guns available to the US, thanks to a complete retrofit of the internals, removing the full-auto firing mechanism and firing-rate reducer and replacing the entire unit with a semi-automatic-only mechanism.

- 1/2x28 TPI threaded barrel
- Barrel length: 4.53 inches
- Ships with two 20-round magazines
- Weight: 2.54 pounds

Additionally, the Czech Small Arms vz.61 Skorpion Makarov comes equipped with a threaded barrel designed for suppressor use and ships with magazines made from incredibly tough TARFLON IR2500 polycarbonate.

Good gun, but ugly.

Shitty laws make this almost a vz61 in name only really. So disappointing that the internals are just completely changed.

I'm keeping my MP5. No self-respecting gal is gonna give it up if she sees me carrying that butt ugly gun. ;)~

Oh, she will if she has a French Bulldog, or a Pug, or a Boston Terrier or a Chihuahua or any of the dogs that fall in the "so ugly they're cute" category. If she does, then the VZ61 is your ticket to party-town! X-D

They'd be better if there was a way to put a stock or at least a "stabilizing brace" on these

9x18 is harder to find, but I have recently found it online for under $10 a box.Gotta keep those Maks fed.

Not sure why they would make these in 9 x 18. Ammo is more expensive and not as available at good prices like 9mm Luger.

Because 9mmMak was designed to run in a blowback pistol and 9mmP requires a locked breech. Unless you like eating a slide every so often? No, I thought not. Besides, the Skorpion was originally designed to use the .32acp, and even 9mmMak is pushing the design limits of what can be done with it.

That's the standard round where these guns were originally manufactured,a bit more punch than the 7.65 but yes they are about twice the price of 9mm luger and much harder to find.
