The cheek well makes this rifle a no go for me. Btw, is buds still suck like before?

I don't know what this comment means honestly. Bud's has been the best online retailer for me when it comes to all my firearms purchases. They price match almost 75% of the rifles I buy. Never had a bad experience.

This rifle is a buy at around $1000...but not at this price point. People can go on screeching all day about how this is "better" than an AR, but the reality is its just different. But since you can currently buy an $800 high quality AR, spending $500 more for a rifle that looks cool but does the exact same thing just doesn't make any sense.

If you want to compare, look at how much the Piston ARs cost

Bren 2 coming in 2018?

I don't see how that would be possibly. They won several huge contracts so I don't see how they could do it unless they charged like 10k per rifle or something to make it worth their time right now.

CZ makes high quality products, very dependable and accurate. Don't hold me to it but I "think" their shotguns are made in Turkey and I won't buy one unless made in the Czech Republic.

With shipping insurance and my FFL's fee, mine came out to be $1342 out the door. This rifle is smooth and screams quality.

If I could afford to buy another I would. It’s one of my absolute, favorite rifles. So far 6000 rounds down the pipe and only one failure to extract because the ammo was a dud. My GTW rifle

Sure reminds me of the scar. Except for the buttstock and a barrel thinner than a white man's weiner.

This gun is incredible! It’s one of my all time favorite 5.56 rifles. I own both this and the Scar 16 and I find this Rifle to be smoother. This is a SCREAMING DEAL!!!

Great price! I own this and the SCAR 16. While my scar is set up for long range accuracy with a Geissele trigger, a Nightforce NXS 2.5x10x42 optic and atlas Bipod, my CZ 805 S1 BREN has been 100% reliable an IS easily an MOA rifle. I highly recommend the CZ if you want an extremely reliable (out of 10000 rounds NO FAILURES OF ANY KIND YET)! I do clean my Bren just like any other rifle (By the way it is a piston gun so may not be as necessary as a DI. Looking forward to suppressing it. At this price ITS A STEAL!

I own both the scar 16 and the CZ 805 BREN S1; I can tell you from experience of shooting both rifles with High round counts that the CZ BREN is every bit as good as a scar 16. It will shoot (for me 1-1.5 MOA) at 100 yards unsupported with just a sand bag. Never had a failure to feed or extract which I cannot say about a number of my AR's.

Then you must have some junk AR's, junk mags, or junk ammo; or just not know what you're doing.

I believe you the 805 is as good as FN's SCAR, but the 805 pistol weights over 7lb naked. It's not good weight either. Supposedly a last minute material change without changing any dimensions.

This gun wasn't good enough for the Czech mil as the 805. I'm also waiting for the Bren 806.

Hahahaha. Yeah it is but with the "arm brace" it doesn't feel big. If you shoot it with one hand it would be worthless. I use a larger brace brace which looks like it's made for it. Basically looks exactly like an SBR. But the stock is actually an arm brace... In started with a blade and it was to small. proportions were off. That's what I run on CZ scorpion and it's perfect but scorpion much smaller. Or you could just sbr it and still be under this price point by a couple hundred with stock.

I've had my 805 carbine for 4 months or so now and I love it. Got extremely bored with ar build after ar build, wanted something NOT an ar. Call up cz if you are active duty or a .mil retiree and get a nice discount. I've added am ta31f to my rifle and its been fantastic, no issues making hits with m855 to 500m. running suppressed is very pleasant with minimal blow back / gas to face. If you're complaining about the price go be poor somewhere else and get a new hobby. Its a scar16 for 40% off.

Hmm I just read the comments. I didn't know the perception was negative regarding these. To bad as they are engineered magnificently. Also, the only individuals I know that own them are all experienced veteran of the game. No mall ninjas as I hear them refereed to on this site.... I do agree the $1700 seems a little steep BUT a decent Adams Arms piston driven AR with same features including great flip up sites will run you $1200 and there's no comparison. Also, this is a cold hammer forged barrel, ambi, and completely modular. It has all kinds of great features. Like I said do a bit of research in this before you knock it. It's the real deal and like I said below. If you can find the pistol for $1100 it's a steel.... You will never find anything comparable at that price... iMO of course;). I think MAC did a review on it which is what sold me on it originally. There are also some other very reputable reviews on this from what I remember.

People would argue Adams Arms piston AR's are for mall ninjas.

As for this gun, they were not designed well. Changing poymer to aluminum at the last minute without changing dimensions to save weight was something that made this gun unacceptable to the Czech military. A few other changes were requested/required, and CZ delivered the 806.

I really wish CZ would knock it off with selling us the first gen (almost the experiemental generation) of this gun and start bringing in the 806.

I picked up the 11' pistol version for around $1100. I absolutely love it. Hands down one of my favorites to take to ranch and run through CQ drills/competitions. I added an arm brace and it's significantly less then this so assume these will come down in price. I also have a scorpion set up the same way. CZ quality/value is excellent in my opinion. I have a number of AR pistols that I built and purchased complete. If your buying complete unit then go the CZ route as its a good deal in my opinion. There's a lot of average ar pistols out there for $800 or $900 and for most part they are all the same. Some have billet recievers, drop in triggers, and ambi charging handles but for most part all the same stuff. Don't get me wrong as I love them and have pretty much every caliber covered. But this is something completely different. Not only different but it runs like a beast and is accurate up to 250 yards. Sure you can go build an ar pistol for $500 or $600 bucks but if you already have a couple ar pistols in the safe spend a bit extra and pick this up. You will love it!! I actually have the FDE version which looks great with matching brace... It's a bit heavy but feels great in you hands. Basically like scar but shorter. Same "quality" solid feel. Action is tight super smooth just really well put together all around... Only complaint would be trigger. It's a battle trigger so no Geiselle SSA or CMC. I will probably look into getting a trigger job at some point. I did that with my CZ scorpion and it's much lighter (5 lb's), more responsive, and minimal amount of creep...

A pistol caliber carbine is a crappy comparison. Best crap quality thing that compares would be like the KelTec 5.56 guns, and you'd only get like 3 of them for this price.

Seems like a nice rifle, but too much dinero for my taste. You can buy bunch of good AR15 with piston system for much less.

This is an absolutely fantastic rifle. It's one of the best non ar 15 rifles ever made. It's almost identical to the scar 16 for about 800-1000 less if u can even find one. This rifle is a definitive buy. Smooth, extremely easy to clean and absolutely 100% reliable.

i have shot 1000+ rounds through a friend's Tavor and absolutely hated that gun- from the garbage accuracy to the cruddy ergonomics. seriously- what makes this gun 2X as good as an $800 AR?is it 2x as accurate as my DPMS? parts for it aren't universal and plentiful like an AR.

And what makes this CZ Bren a Tavor? I don't get the comparison...

nice- but I just don't understand the appeal of a gun in 5.56 like this or Tavors when there are so many good ARs for $1000 or less
