CZ P-09
The P-09 is our full-size polymer offering, boasting an impressive 19+1 capacity in its flush-fitting magazine – unsurpassed by any other 9mm service pistol. Featuring the versatile Omega trigger system, the P-09 is shipped with decockers installed but can easily be converted to a manual safety with the supplied parts and instructions. Also included are small, medium and large backstraps that allow the user to customize the pistol’s grip to their hand while retaining the natural point of aim that CZ handguns are known for. With an integrated 1913 Picatinny rail, the P-09 is readily adaptable to low-light situations. The Omega DA/SA trigger provides crisp single action trigger break, while providing the safety of a DA first-pull option.
Note- Some CZ-USA dealers order special versions that vary from the standard configuration. This might be a difference in sights, safety mechanisms, finish or accessory package. There are a number of special versions we ship throughout the year. Any version may ship with or without a lanyard loop.

Bought one from a local gun shop for $479. Great gun. Fits extremely well in large hands. The trigger is very nice. DA is a bit stiff, but SA is better than in a CZ75B. The sights are chargeable glow sights, not night sight. Good accuracy, and excellent capacity. At $460, I can't find a single gun that's better than the P09.
Be careful with this handgun, it might be $60 cheaper than a 19 round XDM, but the magazines are twice as much. So if you don't plan on buying more magazines, this is a awesome deal.
I’ll gladly deal with the magazine costing $5 or $10 more than ever considering taking an XDm over this one. You would have to be high off your ass. This gun is hands down the best polymer frame hammer-fired pistol on the market. Skeptical? Go shoot one and get back to me.
Considering it's been 9 years since these comments, the price for XDM magazine and P09 magazines are more on par with each other in 2023 depending on where you shop.
Dam! 9 years and the price is lower than when it was posted back then($446)! I might just pick one up that alone. And I do own an XDm. The main point of consideration would be the grip safety on the XDm. I never had an issue with it, but some of my friends did.
While that may be true I doubt the intent of someone picking this over the XDm has much to do with cost. Striker fired vs Hammer and the SA/DA is probably a bigger reason for one to make a choice. Good info about the mags though. I'm not sure if there is a witness pistol that shares a mag with the p09 yet but in the future it may be an option as they are typically cheaper. There is also the possibility that mec-gar will make mags.
Question for the owners of this gun - If price is not a factor, would you get P09 or the HK P30LS? Why and why not? I love SA/DA pistols, but don’t have a polymer one yet. Both pistols are contenders in my book. Thank you all in advance!
