Just tried 14500 batteries

Just tried 14500 batteries and it seems 3x brighter. Focused, it's throwing a solid beam and leaving a nice spot on the clouds (it's raining.) Runs warm, but not hot, after a few minutes.

You aren't going to get

You aren't going to get anywhere near 300 lumens out of this light on a AA battery. You can use the 14500 rechargeable lithium batteries to get closer to max output on these but you'll be overdriving the LED and it likely won't last too long. At least that's what the geeks say in the flashlight forums. :o)

I have a couple of these and some 14500 batteries on the way. Just make sure you use protected lithium cells... the unprotected cells can KABOOM. I'll update this post if anything unexpected or disasterous happens.

The slow boat from China

The slow boat from China finally arrived. Awesome little light. Solid build and I can't believe how bright it is on a single AA battery. I'd say it's twice as bright with a 14500 but probably still nowhere near 300 lumens.

The ones I ordered are the straight ON-OFF without the different modes. I'll be ordering some more of these as Christmas presents.

Bought one and received it

Bought one and received it about a week ago. Compared it to my other lights and I'd put it at about 100 lumens. Still, it's worth 3 bucks.

Got it in other day. It may be brighter, not sure till I get the other one in, but this 400lm one does not have strobe or low setting... Looks identical to the pics of the 300lm but no strobe. So keep that in mind if your needing the strobe.

I have several of these,

I have several of these, possibly an older version that is by sipik, and all are still going strong. I payed a bit more for them (around $5 ea.) and still seem a good value for what I paid. JMTC..

Affordable but Disposable...

Affordable but Disposable... I bought 4 of these about 6 months back. They took a long time to ship but arrived just fine. I've since stashed them about in case of emergency but there is one I was using almost daily in a specific place in my home and the switch only lasted about 3 months before it gave out. I'd still recommend them but definitely don't count on them to work consistently over time.

I bought five simply because

I bought five simply because of the price, if any of them or all turned out to be crap then I'd have no problem in tossing them.

It did take several weeks to arrive but considering they were coming via a slow boat from China, I wasn't surprised. Actually it didn't seem too bad, maybe 3-4 weeks but I knew it would take a while.

However, I've been very impressed with them especially at this price. I tossed one in each car we own and my Jeep, and have been using them for several months. Sure, the beam is broad but it is bright and so far all have worked flawlessly. They are not for lighting up objects at a distance, I have another light of similar size that cost considerably more money that will light up things a block or two away; while these are good for maybe 20-30 feet.

But don't let that stop you from buying these, they're great cheap lights, run on affordable batteries and are perfect to toss in locations where they may be needed sometime like cars and whatnot. I'd buy more of them...

I think they are definitely

I think they are definitely worth the money. These are also very water proof, at a party a few weekends ago i pulled mine out of my pocket and threw it into the pool on strobe mode. Worked the entire time it was in the pool which was 30-40 minutes, weeks later and still working

Once the light is on, it has

Once the light is on, it has several settings when pressing half clicks. It sports a low light, full brightness, strobe and simply off. Actually mine is very solid and overall a good buy. I'm just not sure if the one listed here is simply a rebrand of the unit I purchased with Amazon's ASIN number B009NAE3YM.

I have 4 of these but the quality of the clicker switch is not consistent. One works one doesn't and the ones that works sometimes just doesn't click on and won't work then suddenly would work even though everything is tight. I have now abandoned them all and went Streamlight. More money but works every time.

I bought 4 of these as well.

I bought 4 of these as well. Within 3 weeks, 3 of them had the switch fail. 2 would not turn off and the third would only cycle through the modes but never turn off. Buyer beware.

Ive had one of these since

Ive had one of these since xmas. Its a great little flashlight, but not good for every day carry. The biggest problem is the led assembly unscrews by itself because it has room to since there is the focus adjuster. It really needs something to lock it down. Also, its not water resistant at all. Just an FYI. Other than that, its a great light for the money.
