Just got one of these and am really impressed at the quality for the price. It looks like the barrel is even dimpled... Very happy with the purchase.

Ordered one. Can't beat the price for what it is. Came within 3 days of placing the order. Everything appears to fit and function fine. It is a bit "tinny" and there is going to be a small amount of ring to it maybe. Bolt latch is a bit tight but I imagine that will loosen with some time. My only complaint is that is freaking dry as sahara. The finish literally robs your body of moisture, and I'm going to have to season it for a week at least with some CLP.

Every budget upper I've built has been "tinny"... I used this stuff called Dynomat that I found laying on my table saw in my garage. My son was pissed when he found out I cut it up into strips and stuck it to the inside of the handguard... It works great though. No hollow tin can sound anymore when I charge the bolt. And hopefully he learned a valuable lesson on why he should clean up his mess after he's done working...

I have purchased many upper kits from combat armory and got this one recently for the VET25 deal. I overlooked the fact that it is melonite treated opposed to the other kits I purchased that are all phosphate. VERY HAPPY. Great service from combat armory as well. I will definitely replace one of the other 16” combat armory uppers I got with this nitride one. Nitride and mid length gas system are a big upgrade in my opinion. Thanks combat armory

Do you think you will get any of the .224 Valkyrie back in stock? Was a hard swallow when I realized I missed it.

Our production manager tells me we are running them now for a OEM now and we will have some over runs soon to put online. We are currently only selling over runs on the website.

I like this deal, like the equipment, like the seller...but last time I bought one of these combos and put it on an Anderson upper it was single shot. Sent a message on their system asking for advice (I'm not super well versed in these failures) and haven't heard back yet.

Fit and finish is good and I really like how it feels in my hand (however stupid that is) so I bought another set for this round of savings. If the new upper and bcg don't work right then there's something wrong with the lower. If it works fine it's the upper and I guess I'll chase them down a little harder on it.

I ordered this kit (unassembled though) back a few months ago and just got around to putting it together for an xmas gift. Unfortunately the barrel is not passing headspace check. I've checked it with Brownell gages and 3 different bcg's, including one that I ordered from Combat Armory. I emailed the company almost 2 weeks ago, called the other day and left a message and emailed them again the other day and have not gotten a reply back yet about it. I have made numerous orders from them and this is the first time I've had an issue with their parts and the first time I've had to try to get ahold of someone there. Poor customer service, especially for a returning customer.

I own 3 of the assembled version and they all checked out fine for me. I'd wait until next week and if after Monday you don't hear anything try to contact them again. I usually get a response back the same day or just a few days later so its possible they got a little busy. They were pretty quick to take care of an issue I had in the past so I would keep trying to contact them.

Combat Armory have become my first stop for any AR build. Mike is the guy I have deal with many times and have provided me with only the best. I am planning 2 more builds and don’t need to look somewhere else anymore.

Are you ever going to have the unassembled kits available again?

Yes we are, there has been a large spike in Wholesale orders i was told from our machine shop manager, once those are filled there could be inventory for online. We only sell OEM Production over runs online that's why inventory is In&Out some times.

10/10, slapped a UTG on it today and fired for the first time, hard to beat for the price.

Mine arrived in about 12 days after ordering and was packaged well and looks to be of good quality for the price. I haven't tested it out at the range yet but everything looks to be in spec when pairing it on aero, anderson, and psa lowers. The upper has a cerro forge marking and the mlok handguard is slim and sleek looking and feels good in the hand. The MLOK handguard looks very similar to some of the Radical firearms I've seen. The barrel I received is in excellent condition with a nice finish and marked 556 1/7 near the end of the barrel towards the flash hider. I'll try to leave an updated review after testing it at the range. Overall I'm happy with the purchase for the price paid that I ordered a second and will leave feedback once I receive it.

Here's my opinion on the gun. I own one, I've put 1500 rounds through it, give or take. It had troubles from the start. The frame pins walked out after the first 2 mags. Had to keep pushing them back in. Also had failures related to the magazine baseplates not allowing the magazines to seat correctly. SCCY sent me new larger pins that were slightly bent, the bend puts tension on the pin which keeps it in place better. Also sent the new base plates, which resolved the failures. The extractor and ejector have both broken. SCCY sent replacement parts for both. The trigger has a tendency to not reset properly. That has yet to be resolved. Before I polished the chamber, I tried using steel case ammo and it jammed up so bad we had to clamp it in a vice and beat it with a rubber mallet to get it back open. I've fired a lot of other handguns with similar round counts without one issue, let alone a laundry list of issues like the cpx2 has had. I don't recommend this gun. SCCY service has always been helpful, and I hope the company comes up with a product that I can recommend, but it's not the CPX 2. Considering there are options that don't cost a whole lot more, I'd recommend a 9 on sale from Ruger or S&W, they have better design, materials and QC. I picked up a S&W shield this summer for 200+tax after the rebate. I have yet to put that many rounds through it, so I can't give a full comparison, but it's an example of a similar sized, similar priced 9mm, which IMO is better made, and I expect reliability from.

Great input. Where did you get a Shield for 200 after rebate? They never got that low, unless I am mistaken. $250 shipped before FFL fees, briefly, yes, but 200, no. Four months ago, there was a VERY brief period where you could get one for 224 after rebate. However, it appears the rebate did not materialize for many, sadly.
