  • Bought one have one use it a lot and love it. The amount of ammo that this gun can ingest without one single problem is astonishing. This is not the best AR out there but this is what they are judged after and strive to beat. If you are shooting a lot I recommend it.

awe this isnt really over priced for the market today. they are selling the colt name.

funny tho remember it was only a few months ago "colt" wasnt gonna sale to you anymore because you were civilian and "the market was flooded" but most people could see that they were really bowing to the demtards. funny to see them try and cash in only a few months later.. lol

This is bound to get some hate but what the hell...
Last week I bought a Delton “M4 pre ban” kit (that means it has a bayonet lug) from Optics Planet for $380. Put it on an Anderson receiver I paid $40 from Cabelas a year or two ago and attached an MBUS rear sight I had on hand; looks just like the Colt: total price $420

I have a Del-ton rifle and a Del-Ton upper. The Del-Ton barrel is 4140 steel, and chrome lined, has a semi-auto BCG, and shoots fantastic. I have a few Anderson lowers and upper receivers. They're decent and fit tight, but they're cheap for a reason. My Del-ton uppers are better in the fit and finish category (no fingernails on the chalkboard sound when operating that charging handle like I get with Anderson).

Colt rifles are 100% mil-spec, or at least they used to be. Neither my Del-Ton nor my Andersons (to include their parts kits) are true mil-spec. Looks can be deceiving. That's not to say that Anderson and Del-Ton don't produce decent stuff. But it's not the same as Colt. Pretending otherwise is just pretending. You did not build an equivalent rifle for a third of the Colt's price. You likely built a good rifle that will serve great in the vast majority of the tasks you could ask of it.

Yes you are right on all counts; but for the “average” shooter the price of this “mil spec” Rampant Pony” branded rifle is questionable.

This is sad, and someone is about to buy this thing. This gouging shit is disgusting and disappointing from the industry, I’ll wait at least a few years to purchase again, it’ll be ok

I bought an LWRC DI about two weeks ago and paid about $100 more. Colt 6920s were a deal for $750-800. This is bullshit.

We purchased one right before the election and paid just over 1k.
    You are right. Its bullshit.

Word isn these Colts aren't really Colts anymore. Hopefully the CZ deal goes through and they finally get some competent management at Colt.
