I'm afraid those days are over. We just went through an amazing time with really great deals on AR's. I think things are swinging the other way now.
I said $200 b/c I got the Colt Trooper which is essentially this with a $200 Centurion Rail for $712 shipped and the Colt complete Lower for $190 shipped.
This is $200 away from being a deal
The OEM1, with front sight post, is also available and on sale

I'm newer to the AR scene. I have a Head Down PV13, Windham diamondhead 300 blackout, and am now looking for my 3rd. I love my first 2 choices so wanted to know why Colt? What separates this from other mil spec AR's. I'm sure there's something just wondering what everyone likes about them? I am out every weekend doing local tactical contests in TX so is this something I would enjoy?
As goober said.....future re sale is a good reason to own it.
If you ever want to sell it there will always be buyers.
For awhile there was a popular notion that only mil-spec colt's were go-to-war worthy or battle tested. Other AR's were for competition or just toys, not for defense. That opinion that has evolved over the years obviously, but really I'd probably still prefer a Colt 6920 to most of them.
If this was OEM-1, I would go for it. OEM-2, not so great.
Huh? Oem2 is exactly what you want if you want to put on a free float forend. There is a good reason for oem2.
They are so hard to get right now that I just went ahead and bought it anyway. I have a spare triangle FSB laying around, I'll just swap it on there and roll out.
This is a good price. Less than I paid a few months ago, damn it.
I'd argue about 125 away from a deal since they do free shipping. Last OEM 1 I bought 3 months ago I got for $610 shipped.
