SamwiseTG you are correct I bought the Magpul at $649 from SG.
$900 is a terrible price. Just a few months ago, the Magpul version was going for $700.
The political climate has changed a bit in the last few months. AR sales have increased, and thus, so have prices. That whole supply and demand thing.
Is this pretty much top of the line for an AR-15? How does it compare to a Ruger or Smith and Wesson that usually go for around $550?
Fit and finish is excellent on my Colt M4. Hand guard is double shielded (Smith & Wesson is not shielded). Chrome lined barrel on this vs not on the smith. 1in7 twist for stabilizing heavier bullets. 1 and 9 twist for the smith. Colt has everything heavy duty mil spec.
A "Mexico stamp" adds 600 dollars to the price from what I hear ;)
At this price point there is many better options lol
