why doesnt this site reset comments once in awhile say after 6mo? after all these comments are 97 months old! like what??? good god delete that crap already .. haha

As far as these BCG's, how the hell does anyone even know its a "colt" bcg? There are no "Colt branding" on it....or for that matter who cares as its probably manufactured by the same forges as alot of other brands. Same thing with uppers and lowers, theres 1000 companies selling "Their brand" lowers and uppers yet the 1000 companies all get their raw uppers and lowers from about 5-6 actual forge manufacturers . Rarely does a company forge their own actual parts. You can see this by looking for forge markings.

I think there's supposed to be a C on it.

These used to be marked C when Colt actually made parts in house......not anymore. No "C" on carrier or "MPC" on bolt.
This is basically a generic BC with no markings made by someone other than Colt.

This is the worst fucking deal I've seen on this site in the last 3 months.

...wow. I guess some people will pay anything for a name. Colt offers a complete BCG for $175. So anyone who pays $225 for a 8620 Carrier and key is nuts....lol

You're kidding me right?

This coming from the guy who would pay $20 for a bubble gum wrapper if it had the name "Noveske" on it, and $50 for the actual bubble gum.

C'mon now man.

huh? I own a few Noveske lowers, but that's about it. little different from paying $229 for a standard 8620 Bolt......at least with a Noveske lower you actually own something different......with this purchase you are simply paying 3 times as much for the exact same item......that's just dumb.

Go to Colt.com. Not sure if they have it in stock or not....but in stock isn't what makes a deal. This Carrier is the exact same carrier you can get anywhere for $69. + Key and 2 bolts. In fact this is most likely made in the CMT factory.

I just think it's funny how much people are willing to pay for something with a "C" stamped on it.

For less than this carrier, you can buy a better quality complete BCG from BCM or LMT.

I know... But bigger question, who posted this thinking it was a Deal???

Colt stuff can be over priced cause the name... Nother example is S&W as well, like there 1569$ TS AR15 is another buying name crap, its a Basic Stag AR with a cheapest ass barrel (worth 150$, not even Mil Spec metal) and troy battle rail you can get for 200$.

-If people just do some homework and diy, you will save yourself $h!+ load of money and build yourself a great AR. I built a few too many in my time... I currently just made a budget built Spikes AR for 620$ Total: Punisher Lower /Upper/LPK/BCG are all Spikes, just the Barrel is a Mil Spec 1/7 CL but not Spikes bought and a few lying around parts from upgrading another (Maybe 70/80 more if I had to buy them). Everything is Mil Spec or better for the price you will not beat

I agree with DYI. What is really needed is a guide based on materials rather than names. As a machinist I have worked with 8620, Carpenter, as well as many other steels and know just how tough they are. Poorly made steels, no matter how well machined and tested, are going to be prone to breakage. So are good steels that are poorly machined and finished. What I really want to see are certified steels and from which steel manufacturer. Too, I would like reviews on the quality of the machine work. Are the small radii on stress prone areas cut or ground? If they are cut, is there any polishing on the stress prone areas? On equally machined parts, I'll take quality American made 8620 steel over a Carpenter formulation imported from China any day. No matter the testing, on poorly machined parts, I'll simply pass.
