The name "colt competition" was licensed from Colt but they have nothing to do with these rifles.

They have Colt's name on them.

I would say Colt has everything to do with these rifles.

Just to clear up a few things.. yes colt competition went under.. Sad, as they were hand built, fitted and tested in Texas. So.. want a rare Colt? This would be it!
As far as 77gr. That’s not what was used.. 79gr. Was their load. You can look it up, or look on a shot card from one. I got a CRX, was a prize gun... shot card was .269 at 100yrd’s !! Pretty damn good...
The left over parts got bought up by CDNN. You can still build your own.. hell, for $20 they have a great 2 or 3 port comp. like folks said, who cares about the warranty, built on colt parts, colt comp trigger (not bad at all, in stock form. A light stoning and they can be great!)
The lack of “colt wiggle” was well worth it! No need for the red wedge.. guts are all colt.. the only two parts I’m not sure are colt.. barrel and forend, but colt outsourced so much it’s hard to tell. Either way... they all out shoot mil spec colts. Soooo, great gun cheap? Or pay for advertising? Up to you...

I bought this gun in November as a 2nd AR to my S&W Sport and I can tell you the difference between this one and the S&W is noticeable as far as accuracy.

JR - the noticeable difference, as in the Smith is more accurate or the colt comp is more accurate?

The Colt rifle is more accurate in my humble opinion...my S&W tends to have "fliers" a little bit more while the shots from the Colt are in fact tight at 100yds from a bench shooting. I was surprised to see it like that, but the accuracy is there. I don't want to say a 1" or 1.5" group, but they are tight on the Colt.

I do really like this gun...I like the accuracy and of course, the Colt logo...but I do not like the handguard because I have looked everywhere and cannot find rails that will fit that i can put on the handguard. So I moved the upper rail to the bottom to put a cheap bipod on it and a front swivel but I need more rail does anyone know where i can find any? I have an EOTech XPS I bought 2nd hand on it right now, but I want to get the Nikon P-223 4-12 to put on it, it has good reviews.

An added cool thing about this gun is that when I bought mine in November, it came with a Colt logo one piece scope mount....that was a savings there over buying one separately. Just if anyone else is considering this rifle.

I have one of these in the CRX version (match trigger, muzzle break, and barrel). They are hand built in Texas for COLT. They shoot the gun before shipping. My target showed 2 bullets touching each other at 100 yards.

Is the company that made these back in business? Or is it a different company now?

i used 77gr match grade bullet with it or a warm 75 degree day, at 50yards paper target, but the grouping i got was about 2 inches, on the same day i shot ruger american 308 using a 147gr match bullet and shot submoa with it, i have not tried 62 or 55 to see how accurate is it, but if you wana use it with 77 grain, then dun waste your money on this

Seeing as Colt Competition went bankrupt and officially closed their doors, I don't know if I would buy one of these... Even if they only have a one year warranty, who's gonna service them if they need to be serviced? Looks like a great gun, just would not want to buy one at this point. All of the smaller companies that JUST build AR's, probably wanna start thinking of expanding into other options IMO.

Wow. Colt comp went bankrupt? Didn't know that. That's a shame. I have one of these and love it.
