Had one for over a decade. Works no matter what I do with it.
I'm stunned the price is the same after all these years though.
CMMG must use unobtanium alloy...
Super glitchy. Chocks on every 3rd. Have a relatively stable operation with a piston AR (1-2 failures per magazine) but with a gas operated rifle it was horrible. Declaimer, both rifles were hand built, so guess it could be me. Also I tried it with federal bulk ammo only.
Gotta lube it like a $2 Thai whore, then it'll run well. Gas op throws a ton of fouling into the bolt. Made a dedicated build without a tube and runs without a hitch.
I found that some of my builds with heavy buffers and such would choke some times as well. Seems like I needed the CMMG 22lr charging handle that has a filled groove to avoid getting the cases stuck in the groove of a mil-spec CH. I even took an extra aluminum CH I had around and filled the groove like the CMMG product to use with my spare conversion kit. Hope this helps
Probably cheaper at natchez shooters supply
These work great. Used it in my PSA chepo stainless AR and shot everything from federal golden bullet to Aguila high velocity without a hitch. Just spray your bolt good with lube and no problems. Love it.
Heed the advise about the lube, these need to be run pretty wet to run right. Had a ton of issues at first until I figured that out. You also might have trouble with single stage triggers, won't cycle my elf. Other than that, tons of fun.
Also, a good upgrade are the black dog mags, the plastic follower on the cmmg starts to get chewed up by the bolt.
Works great and a lot of fun. Didn't work with either of my PSA rifles out of the box, emailed CMMG and they shipped me a slightly more tapered barrel extension no question asked.
Not to hi-jack this deal............
I ordered a 22lr bcg for $140 to GA. after the 10% off 1st time order @ armorydynamics.com
This is not the lowest price of all time but it was the lowest I could find with shipping at the moment.
crap I missed this, I want one but I don't wanna pay more than about $140 shipped/taxed.
EDIT: last night I checked it was 144.99 (save12 was dead)
today I wake up got a email from them saying save12 was back on for last minute shopping, YAY!
go back to the site, it's still in my cart.. but now it's 159.99.. those bastards :(
It is not $123 after coupon code, it is $140.
Was just coming to post the same thing. This is a steal at this price. bought mine at $149 and was stoked.
Ah, I miss 2019... Finally grabbed one for $200... the ammo price savings between 22 and 223 make up for the difference though. Hopefully I can come back to this comment in another 12 months and the price settles back down for all this stuff.
Ordered one from Botach yesterday for $189.
