Go to the AK files and read up on AKs before buying. But for god sakes don’t ask questions! They expect you to search olds posts.
They will all tell you to buy a WASR.
I have handled the RAS when I worked for a dealer. They are the second worst new AK I ever saw leave the factory after I.O. inc. The receiver was bent so you could lock the bolt to the rear without a lever or mag. Sent a few back to the factory for broken parts and deformed locking lugs. Save an extra $200 and get a WASR or buy a NIB MAK-90 off gunbroker.
Debateable. The RAS-47 did not pass the akoperatorsunionlocal4774 5000 round test, and the VSKA did.
However, the early VSKA (first run, almost 2 years ago) failed the 5000 round test very early (like 1000 rds) from James Jager and Tim from Military arms channel.

I have a VSKA and im on about 400-500 rounds and it still looks perfect. So take that as you will. It really seems like they had some issues at first and its fine now, unlike the RAS-47 which I have been hearing bad things about since it came out

I have the PSAK with the Magpul folding stock and it's amazing. Nitride barrel, forged parts, all new manufacture, lifetime warranty and price, you can't bet the PSA.
The WASR compares favorably but this particular instance...hell yeah
I thought the same thing until I bought a WASR... front sight block heavily canted, rear sight canted, rough finish on the metal, front sight post pushed all the way to one side and cannot be moved. Overall it’s like a monkey assembled it.
Meanwhile my PSA GF3 is beautiful, great fit and finish all around, came with all Magpul furniture and folding stock for less than the WASR. No comparison in my mind
I saw one of these shipped from the factory as a straight pull bolt action. The receiver was so bent that the bolt held to the rear every shot and had to be pushed forward to chamber the next round by hand.
That must be the California rifle, single shot only ak's are OK.
Why would you waste $600 on this turd? PSA GF3 makes an amazing AK build with high quality parts the same price. Everyone knows to stay away from Century Arms guns and I. O.
