Fight globalism with everything you have. All the foreign made crap is designed to condition you to accept open borders. Foreign made cars were the globalists first major volley. Think this is hyperbole ? 50 million illegals walking our streets says otherwise.

James River Armory is a shit builder. They have quite the reputation for hit or miss builds. Wouldn't pay half this amount for one of their guns. especially a franken gun like this

I can just tell you that if it’s being sold by classic firearms no matter what they show you on the VIDEOS FROM OLD SWEATY BEN....It’s not ever going to look that good.... They are always going to be hit or miss. For some reason I think 4/5 of the time, they sell crap, the best stuff goes first to employees and then their high volume customers. they sell the rest of it to foolish customers like me that buy the 20 dollar up charge for best of 10 but it’s always crappy. then every once in a while people get lucky and get a decent milsurp. I would never buy anything from them.

I thought people who like guns are patriotic crowd? Why buy Chinese? Where is your patriotism?????

I've been at the gun game over 45 years and seen them all. When talking about AKs the best I've ever seen (quality) are Norinco, Polytech, Maadi, and a few Russian models. Had many and all ran like tops. You never heard of issues with them like a lot of the junk being built now. Buying American made firearms or foreign made doesn't make you patriotic or unpatriotic. Why spend your money on a POS just because of where it's made? Step away from the firearms market now. And the auto market. Go in your grocery store and start reading labels on food products. Put everything back that isn't made/produced here. Same with your furniture, electronics, clothes, pretty much any household article. The reality is that you cannot rely completely on U.S. only made products. Given a choice, apples to apples, I'd buy only American but unfortunately that isn't reality in the modern world for everything you use day to day in your life. But give it a try.

Wow. If I cite reality in the world I'm "giving up" lol. I take it you've gutted your possessions of everything foreign made now right? Throw that phone and computer in the trash PRONTO! TV too. Check your car to see what foreign parts are on it. Strip them off. Imported food? Trash time.
I don't like it anymore than you do. Maybe if some corporate greedy F-ers here weren't farming their business out to foreign slave labor, if our government would systematically start a process to ween the country off foreign products... It's not going to happen. Too many of them getting rich from it. Tell me which I can keep. I have Beretta pistols made here and some made in Italy. Same with SIG. How about my Enfield rifles? Russian Nagant Revolvers? CZ pistols? Swedish Mauser? Springfield Armory firearms (you KNOW they shafted us right?). So did Smith & Wesson so to the trash pile go those M&P and Performance Center guns. Ruger 10-22 and 1911. Those ok? Guess I'll end up with an 870 and Mossberg 930 or is there something wrong with having those too? Lastly that awful crap made in Austria... Get the hammer out and bash the hell out of those Glocks. But make sure that hammer was made here. Give me a gold star for not buying Nike though lol.

Are you saying Glock owners aren't patriotic? And what about Springfield owners, Beretta, H&K, Mosin Nagants, etc, etc? For one thing, American made 47s have had their issues. If I were to buy a 47, I would buy a Russian, Chinese, or Bulgarian. They are the tried and true ones. Doesn't make me unpatriotic. If it did, there are thousands of gun collectors/owners that would take exception to that idea. That's like saying a car collector shouldn't have Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, or even Volkswagons in their collections. I just think you needed to put more thought behind your comment before posting.

Yes I am saying exactly that. I buy S&W only. I buy ARs only.
I think gun crowd is just two faced. They talk about patriotism all the time, yet they buy foreign guns (Chinese and Russian two biggest USA enemies). Patriotic people buy Chevy and Ford over Toyota. They buy Cadillac over Mercedes. Isn't that what Trump is saying???? Buy domestic, support USA economy!

I live in a town where the largest employer is FCA and they make the transmissions for the Ram pick up trucks. My friends and neighbors are employees of FCA and our local economy is driven by FCA. Are you saying that I’m unpatriotic because I drive a Ram rather than a Chevy or a Ford? I’m supporting my local economy by buying a Ram. How is it not supporting the USA economy? There are other towns in the US that are supported by Subaru, Toyota, and Honda plants (to name a few). Do you also condemn all the people who live and work in those towns unless they only purchase Ford or Chevy?

You mean the American cars that have parts made in Canada, Mexico, and South Korea? Or the Jeep Renegade made in Fiat's Italy plant, or the Buick Regal made in Germany? How about the Chevy Equinox, Dodge Challenger/Charger, and the Cadillac XTS all made in Canada, Chevy Cruz in Mexico, Ford Edge in Canada? Or do you mean the Hyundais that are 100% made in Alabama along with Mercedes R-Class, the Hondas made in Ohio, Toyotas in Kentucky, Indiana, and Texas, BMWs in South Carolina or the Volkswagons and Nissans in Tennessee? These cars you think are "foreign" made are actually American made and employing thousands or American workers. I buy any of those "foreign" cars and I actually am buying American made cars.
I also own S&W, an M&P 15 and a Model;; 66-1 Combat Magnum. I also own a Croation Springfield, an H&K, and a Colt, to name just a few. So I'm patriotic on some, but not the others? What about that I'm a vet? Am I patriotic now? I served two tours in Afghanistan and 3 in Iraq, am I patriotic yet? Or does my H&K negate all of that? Ask any special operator if they only use American made weapons when they are deployed. Under your simple-minded view they aren't patriotic, nor would the DOD and US government that supplies them their weapons.

You are unpatriotic. And you pretend to be veteran too. Shame on you. Real veterans buy American.

Give me your email address. I'll be glad to send you my military veteran's ID and my CCW. I don't pretend to be anything I'm not. It's unpatriotic of you to bad mouth veterans that fight to give you the right and freedom to be an idiot.
Also since you are a self-proclaimed REAL American, take a walk around your house. See how many of your appliances, furniture, electronics, cell phone, vacuum cleaners, and even the clothes you are wearing right now are NOT made in the USA. And as I already have pointed out, your "American" made car you drive might not be either.

Wow the guy owned you and you are still arguing. You are sold on some misguided idea of patriotism and unwilling to learn. That Trump that tells you should buy American doesn't he make his ill fitted suits and other garbage in China? Don't all his kids over charge you on whatever BS they sell that they have made in China and other Asian countries. You are an idiot with a strong opinion... Basically Trump's base.

lol. that's hilarious. As if anything is made ONLY in America anymore. As for why I buy my guns else where? Because in the AK world commie built guns are better than American built guns. I don't get hung up about "patriotism". I buy what I want and fuck the haters

Wait, so if the receiver and barrel aren’t Chinese, the furniture obviously isn’t surplus Chu Wood, the trigger isn’t Chinese, and they obviously aren’t using surplus Polytec underfolding stocks due to their high cost...

You’re paying a grand for a US made bare bones AK that maybe has some small parts and a dust cover made in China. This is a maybe $500 gun.

MAK-90’s are still out there NIB for 7-800 and that’s a MUCH better gun than this.

Very well said... if at the very least it isn’t a Chinese receiver, then it’s a parts kit rifle. Insane to pay that money.

No mag dimples? Chinese Type 56 had mag dimples, so how can it be PRC mill Spec without the Dimples in the receiver? Pinocchio Ben (Benocchio) at it again!

Price a Chinese parts kit and come back and let us know what you find. Granted these came over and sold on the cheap back in the day but if you weren’t lucky enough to buy one back then you’ll be spending a lot more $$$’s. I’d encourage JR to do more builds - hopefully with dimpled receivers and even milled receiver parts.

People used to knock the Chinese imports back in the 80’s and 90’s but they are one of the top AKM variants out there as shown today. Do some research and get some experience under your belt with these - you won’t be disappointed.

Any AK with a “US made barrel and receiver” is something you should look twice at. These are kits that are put together. The Chinese arms import ban was April 1994, (months prior to the Clinton assault weapons ban which was September 1994)and nothing has been imported since, including Chinese ammunition.

I disagree that this should be $499.... But I wouldn't look twice if it was over $850. Too high in my book. But. If you are dead set on a highly skilled manufacture Chinese A-K. This parts kit built rifle is close to original... Minus the dimples.
