hmm this or the elusive extar ep9?
Extar 9 is an AR-9 and part availability will be a lot more common, including alot of interchangeable AR parts. PAK-9 takes Beretta mags AND glock mags. PAK-9 is considerably heavier which is a +/-. Heavier overall, but also recoil barely bounces the red dot at all. PAK-9 has a pretty good (light) trigger for an AK, Extar is a typical milspec trigger, goes edge to PAK-9 (at least mine) for the trigger. PAK-9 will cost money to setup with a brace as it only comes with a bf adapter. PAK-9 works great with hard primers on cheap steel case 9mm, unsure with the Extar. In the long run the PAK-9 is might appreciate in value more as it will be a limited run. PAK-9 has pic rails at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. AR vs AK platform. That is everything I can think of.
Solid comparison. Thanks.
I am pretty sure you can put an ALG AKT Trigger in the PAK-9 and this version comes with the Glock adapter, buffer tube adapter, and a threaded barrel. Not a bad price for the upgrades during this time of election looming & blown out of portion pandemic.
I actually have both and enjoy both. Both have functioned well also. For now, I would opt for the Extar simply because it has only gone up in price about $20 whereas this Pak-9 is about $100 more than I paid for mine not even 2 years ago.
I don't own this gun , however I am familiar with the extar and can vouch for it. It already comes with the brace and is hundred bucks cheaper ,not to mention lighter. But if you like to add an ak variant to your collection , it probably wouldn't be a bad investment. These things will probably be sparse in the near future and surely will go up in value. Not due to it being great , but rather the scarcity.
I called 10/8/20 , they said barrel is threaded on this model, $549 text a check , $566 credit card , free shipping
Barrel not threaded. $150 for 1/2x28 threading by kygunco gunsmith. Tool investment to diy a little less. Threading a worthwhile pursuit? ROAST ME
Why would someone want this?
