I will be ready to order some. Love you ar-15 kits. Awesome kits, awesome deals.

PM them on here. That's the fastest way from my experience. Also, the dust cover just needs to be worked a few times and it will start to open/close properly.

+1 on the dust cover. Not sure if it's the tab or the pin, but after about 5 times having to give it a good pop closed and open, everything was good to go. I'm really happy with my rifle.

Anyone got some tips on how to fix the dust cover door not closing issue?

That is the only issue so far. I have not shot it yet but it seems like a quality upper. I got the carbine, mlok and mated well with palmetto complete lower.

Sometimes the detent on the Ejection Port Cover can be a little tight and simply pressing and releasing that detent several times, like aledro1989 suggested, will loosen it up and allow it to close freely. However, if it continues to be stubborn just let us know and we will switch it out for a new one.

Been working it for A week now, oiled it and still have to bang it in. I feel like I need to shave the extent pin for it to close properly, or it could be A little to long.

The only other way is if i hold the pin down with my finger nail and close it.

That's not right...can you PM me your order number and I'll get you a new Ejection Port Cover?

I have had this problem with my recent build along with a Few other issues. I have emailed them several time including pictures and just asking for advice on how to take care of the issues and I haven't gotten a response. I've only read good thing s about this company and their costumer service but from my own experience they are rather lack luster once the money has left your account.

Bambie...I just sent you a PM. We try and get back to everyone as quickly as possible but sometimes it takes a few days...especially on a holiday weekend.

Complete kit with no lower receiver. Pretty sure that's not complete

It's my first build and I was on a budget. I actually found a local dealer. $43 for an Anderson lower and no ffl fees :) The red dot is an amazon special for $15 but it held zero the whole time. My cousin let me borrow a magazine luckily so that was like $10 saved . My next step is upgrading the optics for sure but I'm happy. At $400 it's still a great deal!

That worked out well :) I can't wait to get mine assembled and to the range.

Anyone who has ordered the pistol kit, did your kit come with a barrel nut wrench?

I didn't order the pistol kit but the wrench did not come in the carbine kit.

Went to the range for the first time yesterday. Shot 130 rounds with no malfunctions. Really enjoying this rifle. I have $317 total with the stripped lower receiver, red dot, and a foregrip.

Nice work on building it out at that cost. Where'd you get the lower? Which red dot did you end up with?

I did a couple upgrades when I ordered from Ceratac, so my original total was around $280. Found a stripped lower for $40 and had to pay for a local FFL transfer ($20). Spent like $40 on some magazines. I'm at $380 without an optic. I'm setting some complete rifles here for $399. The fact that I'm getting to build it out myself and quality check each piece is worth it to me.

Ordered my kit on 7.JAN.18 and it arrived 4 days later. Pretty quick. Will update after I make it to the range.

Ordered two of the carbine kits in the past couple weeks. One with the upper assembled the other do it yourself.

Didn't have a slim enough crowsfoot to torque the barrel nut. Still waiting on one to arrive (ordered elsewhere). So I haven't had the chance to finish the upper assembly on the do it yourself one. With that said:

On the upper that was already assembled:

Cons:
- Flash hider wasn't timed correctly so I'll have to remove that and throw a new crush washer on it(over timed). Not a big deal but something to note.
- The barrel wasn't centered in the handguard. It has a tilt vertically towards the ground when aiming down the rifle. Going to pull it and lap the upper once the crowsfoot I ordered arrives. Hopefully this straightens it out.
- Handguards are a bit sharp on the edges which would be no fun shooting straight off the guard definitely going to throw some rail covers on.

Pros:
- Everything fits really nice on the rifle with almost zero rattle (stock is the only rattle on it).
- Trigger has almost no take up and breaks insanely clean and smooth after about 15 minutes polishing it on an Arkansas stone, hopefully it stays that way outside of dryfire.
- So far it feeds snap caps without issue. Waiting until barrel issue is worked out before live fire.
- Everything was in the kit and seems to be of good quality.
- Ceratac included two extra rail sections and a poster which was a nice addition.
- As stated by others the dust cover was a little tight at first but opening and closing a few times cleared it up.

Unassembled kit:

All the same pro's as above except no poster :(

I haven't had a chance to shoot the completed one (and I won't until the barrel is centered). Once I get that sorted I'll post another update.

UPDATE:

Crowfoot arrived today so I finally got to get out and shoot.

Assembled Upper:

Just wow. I ordered this a week or so after Christmas and the holiday rush clearly shows on this. The crush washer for the birdcage was completely crushed flat and was impossible to even get on the threads let alone off the barrel. I ended up taking a small pair of cable cutters and clipped it until I was able to break it off.

Now for the barrel being off center.. Just like the flash hider the barrel nut was waaaaaaaaaay over torqued to the point that it was an oval. I ended up having to lightly hit it with a hammer to reshape it to get it off the barrel (stripping the coating off the barrel in places during the process). I'll need to order another barrel nut to replace it and touch up the coating on the barrel.

In the meantime I snagged the barrel nut from the second kit I ordered and put it on. Took it out to the range and put 200 rounds of federal through it. First few rounds had feed issues but after about 10 or so shots this thing ran like a champ.

With all that said is the kit worth the money - absolutely. Would I have Ceratac assemble an upper for me again? Absolutely not!

I just did a quick search online and couldn't find anything. What is timing when it comes to talking about the bird cage?

Ceratac/Ryan
I too had the dust cover problem of not closing. Orders 2 kits and both have the issue.
I sent 2 emails to [email protected] and no reply. Is this site the only way to get a response?

tschem...we send and receive a lot of emails every day so I'm not sure why you haven't received a response. If you PM me your order number I can definitely get you out replacements parts and look into what is going on with your emails.

PM them through this site. I had an issue with the FCG also. I contacted them and within minutes I had a shipment being sent to me. 3 days later I had a new FCG. The replacement quality looks and feels A LOT better

Bought one of these kits to match with a lower I had laying around. After putting together I went out to the range only to find out that the trigger assy is complete garbage. First round always fired, anything after that the trigger is catching before hitting the primer causing a light strike on further rounds. For how cheap it is I guess I cant complain just annoying. I never contacted the place because I figured they wouldnt do anything about it. The trigger assy was prolly $5 from China. I havent gotten around to do some shaving to fix it.

Sniperx...I just sent you a PM offering to replace the fire control assembly in your kit. Had you contacted us sooner we certainly would have been able to help so you didn't feel like you were stuck with a product that you are not happy with.

With that said, I don't think our lower parts kits are anywhere close to "garbage". Sometimes they can take a little more time to break-in than people may expect. But for the money they serve 99% of our customers well and without issue.

Also, I'm not sure where the Chinese comment comes from. For those who are not aware the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) makes it illegal to import gun parts from China. This includes the lower parts kits. So if there was ever a question as to whether our Lower Parts Kits are made in China I can definitively say they are NOT.

We are also, PROUD to offer a 100% Made and Manufactured in the USA Lower Parts Kit for our customers who want to support and help create jobs in this country.

We are Committed to bringing our Customers the absolute Best Value and Product for the Money. We stand behind our products 100%.

Very pleased with my ceratac pistol kit. Thanks for passing on the savings to the customers. Kit arrived on time and everything seems to be in working order. I ordered the tool to put it together. Hopefully when it comes to assembly time things work.

The only downside is that they wont always be this price :)

Also, the ring in the pic with the flash hidder is a crush washer for the flash hidder. Get the flash hidder tight and the washer will crush as needed to allow proper alignment (the reliefs in the flash hidder point up).

Thank you! Hoping that the pictures help anyone considering the deal to have a better look at what they'll be getting. I'm very happy with mine. I've got a lower on order and can't wait to put everything together.

Following up on my first comment re: ordered one and will report back.

Happy to say that the parts kit arrived two days early! Here's a link to a set of unboxing photos I took. Can anyone tell me, am I missing a second barrel nut that the rail nut should butt up against? Otherwise, things look great. Minor difference in color between the upper and the rail, but nothing that bothers me at all.

https://imgur.com/a/3ycFy...

All in all, I'm very happy so far. I'll update once again when I build the upper get a lower to put it onto.

945FN...Thank you for your order. Just the one barrel nut is all that is needed to install the handrail. The two shims that are included are used to help align the rail with the upper receiver. The torque for the barrel nut is between 30-50 ft-lbs. If you have any more questions just let us know we are here to help.

Ryan, missing the trigger and hammer pins from my 100% USA made lower, my order number is 25174. Only one kit is missing the pins, the other was good to go.

Aledro1989 is correct. Our Kits include Everything except the 80% Lower Receiver. The main picture shows the 80% Lower Receiver and Assembly because it is easier for most people to visualize. We also include a picture of the unassembled kit and include notes that clearly say that the lower is not included and that assembly is optional. In addition to that we call out all optional components in the product specifications.

These seem fine, I have the carbine and pistol. You just have to hope you get all the parts. I am missing the dust cover clip, which I can't find locally, not a huge deal but I emailed Ceratac on 12/5 to see if they could send me one and have gotten no response. No one answers the phone either.

Gary...Sorry if you got overlooked. I will make sure we get a ejection port cover clip out to you first thing Monday.

Bought the pistol kit, payed extra to have the upper assembled. It arrived fine, but when I tried to mount it on my 80% lower, the rear take down hole on the upper won't fit into my milspec lower, my only guess is I received an out of limits upper.

Edit: Beat the shit out of it with a mallet and filed it a little bit and it fit like a glove, I will shoot it tomorrow and let everyone know how it goes!
