Just give me the gun for $399.99 like they were a few months ago.

I dont need 35 magazines!!!

The largest complaint with this firearm is that the magazines are proprietary and nobody can find them anywhere for a reasonable price.

If you haven't noticed the M85 is now being offered with the ability to use AR mags. Combine that with being able to retroactively convert the existing M85 to take AR mags and the issue is not "don't need 35 magazines" it is "I should buy one that takes compatible magazines."

Or did you mean, you are going to buy this firearm and never want to find magazines in the future?

actually, you can make slight changes to AK74 mags to work with this.. it would have correct looking mags, and it will look like an ak74, instead of a weird AK with an ugly lower contraption with weird looking mags.

$75 shipping.. Get the F outta here

Yep I don't buy any pistols from them because of their outlandish shipping. 4 Letters - USPS - You can use it as an FFL and I suggest you start to. You've missed out on at least 4 different purchases that I can remember that I went to a competitor for. No one else in the industry charges what you do. Adapt or be passed over.

And no one wants 10 rounders or crapco. Make it $499 with 10 x30 round steel mags and free shipping and you might move some inventory.

jg sales shipping is horrible. i wont buy from them for that reason. 45 dollars for a yugo pistol is a complete rip off.

14 Mags for extra $99

Don't like the caliber or magazines, needs to be 7.62x49, with standard AK mags for my money. No one wants to hunt for Mags.

Edit your post, bud. The case length of the cartridge the Pap M92PV uses is 39 millimeters. This deal is for the M85 which uses the 5.56 NATO round. Your point is taken.

This has proprietary magazines and I can't find any dealer that sells them. They are probably getting rid of this initial release as there will be a GEN 2 that accepts ar15 mags (No ETA on availability):

http://www.centuryarms.biz/proddetail.asp?prod=HG3237-N...

The 7.62x39 variant, which accepts AK mags, is also available at buds for $419 (cash):

TAPCO makes polymer mags for this pistol. Too easy.

As far as the M85 NP, it is available. Just have your FFL put in the order with Century.

Thanks for sharing the link. Awesome design incorporating the AR mag well. I found Tapco makes mags for the HG3088-N, however I decided to purchase six of the steel proprietary mags through Bud's for $110 shipped.

I thought these used Galil mags? CAI used to make the Golani, a Galil rebuild. Maybe you can compare pics of thse mags to yours?

Galil mags won't work without modification. Century sells "modified" Galil mags for the m85. I believe they just file down the feed lips a little, so sounds like an easy mod, but I hate to mod mags. People will say they're fine for range time, but I always prefer to use my "real life" mags at the range. I count a large part of the value of range time to be confirming that the tools you would use in an important situation are truly reliable.

I've heard that the K-Var (circle 10) "translucent smoke" mags for their SLR-106 work without modification in the m85, but the non-translucent, black mags for the SLR-106 require the lip-mod. YMMV

The "guaranteed compatibility" 30-rd steel mags from Bud's seem like the best deal out there right now.

These have quality control problems regarding canted rear sight blocks. This results in the top cover and the gas tube being crooked. Easiest way to tell is to look at the back of the receiver to see if the top cover lines up with the receiver or if there's a gap on one side. I thought that this may be fixed for the newer produced pistols, but I've seen ones with the serial number on the front of the receiver that still have canted blocks.

Folding stock or brace means backpack fit... very nice indeed, cheaper than modding a keltek 223 pistol ( though that would yield AR mags too). Galil mags used to be $35 a pop a while back.

Quality product, CHF CL BBL, tight tolerances, perfect for future SBR build... COULDN'T RESIST! :D This sweet little thing will be a blast and the price is right. This is what Century's site says about the pistol: These AK style pistols are brand new firearms made by the famous Zastava factory in Serbia! Features include a cold hammer forged barrel, dual aperture Krinkov style rear sight, bolt hold-open notch on the selector, chrome plated gas piston, bolt and barrel are made from high quality steel alloy, stamped receiver and a Krinkov style hinged top cover for ease of assembly and disassembly. Super value! Comes with two 30 rd. mags. Barrel: 10", Overall: 19.7", Weight: 6.4 lbs. Not available for sale in NY, NJ, MA, CA, CT, HI or where prohibited by law. Comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty!

This video review is a must see... http://youtu.be/85yONRRklNY...

Buds says this comes with one mag. FYI!

I understand Buds says it comes with one mag, that's why the block of text is prefaced with citation from Century Arms website. I imagine Buds is keeping half the mags they receive for inventory.

They are a lot of fun. Even more fun with stablizer brace ;) The price is extremely low. I'm picking one up as we speak.

When you hit the website it's $669.84... I'm confused...

I just snagged two at $399 each, even though the sale is over. Call in and they will honor the sale until they close today.

Cool Gun, Good price, but wrong ammo!

Give this to me in7.62x39mm and I am in!

M92 is the 7.62x39 version Frog. I prefer the M85 because of the lower recoil. I think the M85 stabilizes ammo better when shooting farther out but haven't tested it. The 92 does have a huge advantage by using standard AK mags while the 85 is proprietary. Once the 85s start coming with AR mag wells, it will be the superior choice. Biggest complaint I have is the selection of options available to mount optics. Hogue grip, stabilizer brace, RFT sling adapter, and Bulgarian muzzle booster have complimented my 85 nicely. Last thing I'd like to add is an Aimpoint T1 mounted to the Midwest hand guard. Shipping seems steep on this deal. Got mine for $399 shipped a few months back. Great budget buy for a quality SBR project.

I am interested in going the SBR route with this pistol, too. Could you reply back with stock options? I would prefer an underfolder but really, I just don't know what my options are regarding compatibility. Thanks very much!

This pistol already has a VIRGIN underfolder rear block (trunnion). What that means is the trunnion has been installed into the pistol at the Serbian factory before they would have machined out the areas needed.

There are two options: 1) remove rear block rivets and send the trunnion to RForbus in Houston, then reinstall it when he sends it back to you (requires expensive riveting jig), or 2) get a to-scale CAD drawing of the areas to machine out, transfer the design to your pistol, machine out all the areas. At this point you would be ready to install your underfolder parts (sourced from some other vendor, surplus, etc.)

Remember the LAW in your area. Don't perform any of this until you receive your stamp from the BATF.

Your response is much appreciated. This project is much more involved (and expensive) than I was originally thinking - I'm glad I received clarification here before committing

Have you seen the Sb-47 stabilizing brace for these pistols? Wondering if that will be a good "hold me over" until getting the machine work sorted out... Or, I will just need to save my pennies a bit longer than planned!

My question is, how much of a mark-up are they charging seeing as they've slashed the price from 699 to 399? Granted, maybe they just got a shipment from Century and the prices have gone down but my gut doubts it.
In the end, it's such bullshit that the '64 gun laws made FFLs and therefore middlemen who exist solely to jack a price up and rake in profits off their cut.

Century would still primarily sell to dealers. They are not good with small orders and would rather go after the big fish, so it would probably be about the same. They have dealer pricing for non-firearms and then still negotiate MUCH lower prices for $100,000+ orders from dealers. Classic Arms had AK mags available in 630 mag lots for lower prices than Century would sell directly to me. I received the mags, all the packaging was marked imported by CAI. Also, Century did raise their prices a lot during late December and have come down each month since April.

$450 is about the price of a complete pistol upper for an AR (add sights, and a linear comp at the end and more than blows the budget, I have one). The inherent accuracy of the AR platform would be a moot point here, and this is a more compact package.

Not sure what mags this uses, but I've seen an adapter for AR mags in an AK before...Even my slight dislike for J&Gs prices would make me pull out the credit card. Do they still charge a fee for that too?

No CC charges, just the shipping price is crappy. AFAIK, these take Yugo M85/M90/M95 5.56 mags. I heard some have used modded Galil mags and also Bulgarian Circle 10 5.56 AK mag work also. FYI, Century has a M85 NP model coming soon, which is this AK pistol with an adapter that lets you use AR mags.

I guess buying two to combine shipping comes out to $37 each, which is still some what high.

$399, that is the price it should be for 7.62x39mm! I bought these in 2010 or 2011 for less than 400 shipped for 7.62x39mm, not 223/556!

Shipping makes this to $450... but still isn't bad or anything we have seen in the past 8 months...

they did not have these back in 2010...these are way better than the Romanian Draco pistols

FJ&G. That shipping is BS.

J&G famously has high shipping charges on heavy handguns because they only ship UPS Air when they could send it USPS like most vendors do. For example, $46 shipping to Atlanta.

You need to find mags for this M85, as they are not the same I think as the Bulgarian AK 5.56

hmm... I bought a bunch of mags that don't fit my Arsenal 5.56... I wonder if they fit this guy...

Agreed. 7.62 does not lose nearly as much velocity out of this barrel length as compared to .223/5.56. I clicked the link for S&G and the price was actually at 899.99. Still terrible but 100 cheaper than posted.
