Bought one of these, took it to the range, fired about 3 boxes of ammo through it, Perfecta brand 308. First let me say, the trigger is not very good, you will definitely want to at least polish it up. That said, while I haven't extensively test the rifle, I had zero issues at the range. My range trip was a spur of the moment thing so I did not have a proper bench rest. At 50 yards the rifle was holding at 1 inch or less, for now I'm calling it a 2 to 2 1/2 moa rifle. So far, I can't complain about the gun save for the sticky trigger which will get some attention soon.

Let us know if the trigger performs better once it's "broken in".

I bought this as well and had only Perfecta from Walmart to test with 'cheaply.' I have put around 200 rounds though it with ZERO failures. I did end up buying a "extended cocking handle" from HK Parts for $50 dollars shipped. I do not know about yours but my C308 was SUPER HARD to cock (hehe that made me laugh) and just seems to be smoothing out but the larger charging handle makes a huge difference and is very easy to grip with gloves but large enough to not dig into your hand when not wearing gloves. I saw a few DIY projects online with people molding larger grips over the factory charging handle and making paracord loops but I could not be bothered to try either right now. Might try and do a custom grip later down the line and paint it to match the green furniture I purchased from www.robertrtg.com.... I know people do not like Cheaper Than Dirt but they have like new (4 out of 6 I received still had the factory cardboard) 20 round mags for 2.97 EACH.

Link to charging handle if anyone cares:

Thanks for the info, I'll probably do a trigger job and some more testing before I spend anymore money on this rifle but that extended handle is definitely a good upgrade.

For me the trigger is fine but I also like a crappy milspec AR trigger....I'm low class like that!

Can I offer 400 dollars for this?

Ah I see your comment PrepperGunShop, good stuff matching (and slightly beating) prices. I picked one up for $650 from another merchant a few months ago. Still close enough that I'm not beating myself up over the price difference.

Yes, you will also earn 600 "Prepper Points" from us when purchasing this firearm. That is good for $3 off your next order with us and you'll earn BRONZE VIP as well. I do not believe those other two merchants run a free VIP rewards program.

You can read more about our free VIP program here: https://www.preppergunshop.com/vip...

Ok disregard the previous. 26 minutes after i commented they dropped the price :) But looks like in the other two offerings you get two 20 round mags...

Our C308 rifles come with two 20rd mags & one 5rd mag as well. We have it listed on the item's title as (1) 5rd & (2) 20rd mags.

Those are not better deals anymore. We price match competitors as long as they have the item currently in-stock. We are now a bit cheaper than both of those links you have provided. Thank you for your feedback.

I own both the PTR is a nicer gun. It is worth a little more money. Also if you need magazines I think I got them for something like 3.50 each on brownels or something like that. They are used but 5 out of the 6 looked new and the 6th one cleaned up perfect. I find the PTR is more accurate than your standard AR-10. I think if I was willing to switch out the AR-10 barrel with a competition barrel and polished some parts I could get better performance but I don't feel like spending the money or time. My distance 308 of choice is the m1a. One thing I can tell you about this gun and the PTR, if you are a reloader it will beat the hell out of the brass. If you have some end of life 308 brass you don't want to reload anymore this is a great way to send it to the grave.

Paid $650 for mine at Grabagun.com (they are currently $699 there) + $5.99 ship. Here at Prepper Gun Shop it will be $649.98 shipped to me at the current price.

A sightly better deal at Anthony Industries: http://anthony-industries.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=4018&virtuemart_category_id=29&Itemid=585...
For $639 Shipped.

Should you buy this gun? It is ok for me but I do wish I would have put the couple hundred $$ extra into getting a PTR instead... Finish and part quality is poor, but functional absolutely.

Thanks for the info, especially your opinion compared to the PTR's. I have no experience with either of these firearms, but most of what I read, the PTR's are worth the extra money.

If you're going to get a PTR for $900 might as well just pick up an AR 10 for $1000. Better ergos, better aftermarket, and magazine availability, not to mention accuracy and scope options.

308 full auto sounds fun

Warnings for those of you want to get one. Had to send mine back because it was either bump fires or shoots full auto. When I called their customer service, the guy sounded like whatever, send it back type of deal. If you always wanted a hk style rifle like myself, go for it, if not stay away.

Props to PGS for the very reasonable price and not making up some type of "shortage" or claiming that (insert random politician / state) is trying to ban these.

Lol like with the ak47 deal a few weeks ago

Yeah I decided on not getting it. Bump fire stock for ar15 and a 7.62 upper was the way to go for me. I'm still debating about getting the police trade in sig Sauer 2340 from buds for 329.

Good call not buying this. I recieved my second one (first one had to be sent back) out to the range. Im not an expert marksman but i can consistently hold 1 to 1 1/2 groups with my ar and my remy 700. This thing was all over the paper with PPU match ammo the group was around 6 inches at 100 yards. I also tried some federal fmjs with similar results. One round tumbled and hit the paper sideways. I am extremely dissapointed and will never buy another product that century assembles.

Just ordered one. I've had good and bad luck with century surplus and I've hears some bad press about their roller blowbacks. Hope the charging action isn't gritty like my friends.

Just a warning. I bought one of these a couple months back when they were first released. Charging handle took a HUGE amount of pressure to unlock the bolt. I sent it back and it took a month in a half and they finally sent me a completely different gun. The welds on the new one look like dog SHI@. Have not shot the new one yet but im hoping it at least functions well. The bolt isn't stuck in battery so at least its got that going for it. Just a note i bought it from Atlantic not Prepper gun shop. Maybe they inspect them before shipping.

Yes, we actually do inspect all of our guns before shipment. We pay close attention to all of our AK rifles and AK pistols but give all Century product special attention since the Century Arms QC can be hit or miss (great value however). If we find a major issue we ship the gun back to our supplier.

$20 for extra magazines? Fuck. Even those dicks at CTD sell them for about $3.

What makes you think that Preppers got the same mags at the same time from the same distributor at the same price as CTD?

Sorry, we paid more for the extra mags than that... I lowered our price on the mags as much as we could after seeing that.

@ Denver

J&G sales have the m70b1 for 569. It has the thick reciever like the o pap. Close enough and will do the same thing. Plus you will have money left over for ammo.
