The AP5-M Pistol model is the intermediate-sized version of the AP5 imported from the MKE manufacturing facility in Turkey. Based and build-off of the original and historic design from the 1970s, the roller-lock platform has been widely respected as the preeminent design for over 50 years. Capable of accepting modern designed accessories and packaged with a Cleaning Kit, Picatinny Rail, one 30-round magazine, factory sling, and a gun lock. Finally, this package comes with its own rugged plastic carry case.

Well it's not a real HK to start off the biggest price difference...but is made from the same tooling...other major factor being it's not 3 lugged, just has a flat front with no muzzle options.
Picked one up a month ago (still haven't been to the range with it). A few points:
Negatives:
1) Only one mag
2) No threaded barrel
Neutral:
1) Iron sights are a bit off - don't have special tool from H&K
2) Storage case is nice - but too big
Positives:
1) Seems nicely built. Welds seem good. Finish is good. Charging handle is great.
So far very happy with gun/price.
