Never fired 2 consecutive shots from this gun.. The bolt carrier in this is garbage as the spring in it was seized before I got it. So many unfinished parts on this gun.

I would not buy this even at $200.00 because honestly what good is it to pay for an argument with century arms?

I would not be surprised, at all! if the very first shot out of this gun killed and or mamed you from an internal explosion but more than likely it will just break after a couple of shots and then you will play century arms games through the mail.

Is no longer ca compliant. They need to put the original mag release on it and a grip wrap then it will be ca approved

Buying a roller type Century Arms rebuilt gun is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas. Save a couple more bills and get a PTR.

I've got one, and I only paid a couple bucks more than this (for a non-CA model). I know Century has a bad reputation for these, but mine has been flawless with about 500 rounds through it. 100% reliability between steel case, brass case, reloads... eats anything I put into it. Bolt gap is exactly where it should be with no signs of the bolt having been ground down (not sure if this is an issue with the C308 or just the older batch of CETME's, but mine is fine regardless).

At MSRP, I would absolutely spend a little more for a PTR, but when you're paying under $600, that's $300-$400 under what you'll find the cheapest PTRs for.

I'm sure the PTR is more accurate, but I don't think many people shopping for this sort of rifle are looking for a hunting or competition rifle. It's a cheap .308 plinker, and it does an outstanding job of putting holes on paper.

I'd never discourage anyone from getting a PTR if they want a nicer HK91 type rifle, but I also wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this either for someone who just wants an inexpensive(ish) range toy.

A guy at work bought one. When he asked for my opinion on it, I said it would be likely worth it to save up for the PTR.

Well, he bought the C308. I know he took it to a range once, and said it did NOT run well. Months went by, me always asking if he'd gotten back out to test it again. He hadn't, and his memory of it not working well somehow transformed to it working well. I don't think he had shot it since, either.

So... color me skeptical. Can't believe real people any better than I can internet people.

I'm a Cetme victim. Also, a PSL imported and sold by Century that was completely warped. Last experience with Century was the rivets falling out on an AK74 Sporter.

Didn't realize it was the California-compliant version until after I upvoted. There are actually cheaper prices on these at some of the other big retailers.

Is there a way to remove/swap out the bullet button for standard mag release? would be a good deal otherwise.
