9 cents per round plus shipping? And there is a limit on it like people are actually buying at this price? Why don't you shove it up your arse Cabela's!

MIR

An acronym for "Mail-In Rebate", commonly seen on deal sites.

I got my mp3 player for only $100 after MIRs, but I'm still waiting for them to show up im the mail.

With my math it is not a great bargain.

4 boxes with shipping and rebate $8.73 a box. It helps but not the deal others are posting about. My walmart has them on the shelf some days, $8.49.

You have to remember though.. For whatever reason, way too many people think .07-.10 a round is a good deal on .22 right now.. It's sad

I don't think we're ever going back to the "good old days" unfortunately. Since when in history has ANY product ever gone down in price? I would say .06-.08 is pretty much how it's going to be for awhile for the cheap stuff unless there's a huge glut in the market. And CCI is pretty much the best .22lr ammo under $.09 per round.

many people on this website said the same thing about factory fresh 9mm ammo, that it'd never get back to what it was (20 cents per, shipped to my door) and I've seen it 2x at that price level now in the last 6 months. I didn't buy as I'm fat on ammo. I'll wait for 22lr to get back down to 3.5 cents per for the lead CCI blazers. I"m seeing postings on other websites of shelves full of 22lr here in TX. When this product in particular won't move at 6.5 ~ 7.5 cents, the market will correct itself downwards, IMO.

Since when in history has "ANY" product gone down in price? Oil, corn, silver, pork, copper and many other commodities have all gone down considerably in the last year or so. In fact, .22 ammo has come down in the last year too.

short-term declines.... copper isn't going back to 1990 prices. Maybe some of the super-monopolized products (oil and diamonds) for example that are carefully regulated to the market - can/will go down.

EDIT to add: Basically all manufacturing costs go up over time - labor, supplies, production, shipping... although production costs can go down with new technologies.... but ammo isn't seeing any advances in production to my knowledge. (Maybe some cheap overseas labor rates could reduce prices I suppose) With few exceptions, the USA has been in an inflationary mode economically since its inception.

Ok then, how about televisions, computers, etc... The price of a 20" flat screen today is far less expensive than 5 years ago. Copper isn't going back to 1990's prices? I've also heard we reached "peak oil" and we would never see $2.50 gas again. I've also been told I'd never see $15 silver again. All of this happened contrary to what was being said.
But whatever, it's nice outside, I need to quit wasting my time. Have a great day.

TV's, computers, most technology has found extreme production value increases and other advancements in the last 20 years. Also dropping labor costs (Thank you China). They also recouped a lot of the R&D costs by initially charging us $2000 for a 40" flat panel.

Things like oil, silver, gold, diamonds... are tightly controlled by cartels - they could be REALLY cheap if the controlling interests wanted to glut the market.

Ammo is made the same way it has been for decades (if not more?)

I certainly think that there was some big gouging going on for awhile, but I don't see the product dropping back to 3c per round ever again. I could be wrong. ;)

since when does MIR mean "manufacture instant rebate" ?? MIR has always meant "mail in rebate lmao

2 votes
0 votes

I've never heard of a "manufacture instant rebate", so I googled it. I still haven't heard of a manufacture instant rebate, except for this message board.

0 votes

MIR does not show up - just get straight $8.99 pricing

0 votes

Then it isn't a MIR - manufacturer instant rebate, it is a MMIR - manufacturer MAIL IN rebate, so the deal is not correctly stated.

you have to take the upc tags off the back of the boxes and mail in the form with receipt of purchase price then they will mail you a check for $10.00

If you order item IK-210841 40 Grain Solid Mini-Mag (Manufacturer # 30), you can get a $10 rebate with a purchase of 4 boxes bringing the price down to $6.49/box or $0.064/round plus shipping (or free pickup). The link to the rebate is http://sporting.myonlinerebate.com/04427/...

Stock starting to back up? Maybe they raised their prices a little to much. They used to be a little high but had it. Just a example I was buying the 1400 buckets for $59.99 from them not even two years ago. Now they are $89.99. A 50% increase. I doubt their costs went up that much. I hope they choke on it for a bit and then price might drop.

There are actually little tricks that allow you to order as many as you want. For instance, try this:
-Make sure your cabelas cart is empty. then click this link and add one to cart:
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Rimfire-Ammunition%7C......
Then click on this link and you can change the quantity for as many as you want to your cart:
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Rimfire-Ammunition%7C......
If you mess around with the quantities it can mess it up and force you into only 2 boxes, but no worries--just empty your cart and start over.
Don't forget to get enough to use cabela's bucks to get the price down or you can use a shipping coupon code.

Wow !! You can get FREE IN-STORE PICK-UP !!! That means they won't charge you admission to get in the store !!! Awesome. Let that sink in. Cabelas advertises "Free in store pickup". That's pretty fukkin' weak. So, burn your gas, use your time, and pay tax. But you get to pick it up for FREE !!!!!!! Oh yeah, all for ONE (1) little box. How special. PS. Cabelas can kiss my ass.

Many other retailers also advertise using the exact same verbiage. Also many retailers do not have a mechanism for ordering on line and picking up in store (Tiger Direct for one)

The thing that makes me mad is how cabela's sells these. Not only are you limited to one box, you are limited to one box of any type of cci period! For instance you cannot buy mini mags, and even a box of 22 wmr or standard velocity what the heck? I can see maybe a limit per category, they have it one box per brand haha. This makes it hard to get anywhere near the 100 dollar level so you can use the 5 dollar shipping code.

The one brick limit hurts this deal.

The Walmart by me had cci 40 grain lead nose for $7.47 a box. It wasn't mini mag. It had a slightly slower fps and wasn't copper jacket. I still bought 3 boxes though.

Its sad that with no because of a bunch of fat/old guys who hoard ammo the average american father can no longer take his son 22lr shooting. These losers watch youtube videos on "prepping" and think by purposely buying all the ammo will give them a better chance to "survive" when all they did was collect food and ammo for the toughest guy in the block which is far from a their overweight, no social skill having, no skill having self, hoarding 22s is to tactical as "little red wagon" is to volvo semi-truck

22lr prices are going up, and will continue to go up. Hillary will be elected with a virtual certainty and this will send all investments in firearms and ammo up in value.
And if you know psychology it is likely YOU who are fat, with no social skills.
You'd probably be on the Katrina line for a bottle of water if a hurricane hit.

Wow, your butt must hurt!
Not for nothing, but .22LR is the single most practical round for survival. Not the best in every situation, but the best in more situations than any other round.

Is it just me or is ship to store no longer an option? Don't see it anymore at checkout. WTF
Hmmm when I start checkout on my PC with Firefox I don't get the option. Works fine on my phone with Dolphin. Anyone else having this issue?

Cabellas has the 1 item limit hardly worth the price the shipping ends up costing you more than the 50 round box!
