[Sigh] Remember back before Obamanation pt.1 - The Stupidening when a 500rd brick of promo grade 22lr could be had for $10? I miss the good ol' days...

I disagree. The ammo shortages happened during the Trump Administration. Not Obama’s. Also cci brand ammo and norma has never been the same price as the ammos you mentioned. You did not even mention what the prices used to be for cci in 2019, yet you mention completely different and cheaper brands like mcdonalds. Stop using an ammo post to fuel your political agenda. Anyway this is not a bad price for clean 22 ammo. about 12 cents a round after shipping and taxes to Arizona.

I agree the OP was using "an ammo post to fuel his political agenda." 100%, without a doubt. Pathetic, even more pathetic that his agenda requires lies and twisting the truth to justify.

But there were ammo shortages under Obama, most notably after Sandy Hook......BUT it had zero to do with the president nor any call for action he made yet he was blamed for the panic caused by pundits and their petulant man-child fanboys. The fuds were all screaming in unison (like they do every few years) "da gubmint is comin' fo our gunz!!!!" All sky is falling nonsense that NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER comes true yet they never learn nor ever shut up. How many times can they be wrong while still beating the same dead horse?

I recall ammo always being on the shelf and not inflated with obama admin. Can not all of us remember what happened that long ago?

Then you don't remember Obama banning the import of x39 calibers just like Biden. And yes, the prices under Obama DID go up for ammo. They did not go up under Trump until all the BLM/covid nonsense. But that wasn't directly because of his policies. Ammo went up because of the direct policies of Obama/Biden.

You could buy a box of Winchester White Box for $12-13 or Remington Thunderbolt for $15 at Walmart in 2019 ...then you know who started stirring the pot. Luckily ammo is back in stock and dropping in price since the Jan 6 knuckleheads turned tail and ran.

LOL, and and CCI "tactical" or Mini Mags were never that price. You are comparing ribeye to a 99 cent burger.

In 2019 I bought CCI 22 lr mini mag for 4 cents per round using gun.deals. Twice. The ammo shortages of 2020 were initially and primarily caused by Covid related hysteria. The, relative to 2019, high prices that we see today are, supposedly, a result of supply chain shortages and/or manufacturers greed. My primary round is 9mm, it’s still (February 2022) about double the price I paid in 2018-2019.

I’ve seen no evidence that January 6 had any specific or unique impact on ammo prices. Btw, who, exactly, were the “January 6 knuckleheads” you mentioned?

Because of an ammo shortage in 2013, 22 lr was very hard to find then too, if I recall correctly (I didn’t personally shoot 22 lr until 2018).

"I’ve seen no evidence that January 6 had any specific or unique impact on ammo prices. Btw, who, exactly, were the “January 6 knuckleheads” you mentioned?"

I meant the type of people who participated in the Jan 6th insurrection are the same people who have been hording ammo / preparing for war over the last few years, really ramping up 2-3 years ago. And you are right, COVID did not help.

Started with that silly "antifa revolution" which was supposed to happen a few Novembers ago (dear Fox News, you really missed the boat on that one!), the "migrant caravan" which was going to invade the southern states (dear Fox News, you really missed the boat on that one!), the BLM marches which would "burn down whole cities" (dear Fox News, you really missed the boat on that one!) and now 5G vaccines and GPS trackers from COVID.

Oddly when there is no angry man screaming on TV / Twitter, the fearful stop buying so much ammo and guns thus the prices settle. Same thing happened under Obama. $400 AK's and $300 AR's were the norm after a few years of people realizing Sandy Hook was not an excuse to "take our guns." And 9mm was cheap / plentiful too.

BTW, did you really need me to explain who was part of Jan 6th.....

Type of people? Insurrection?
From august 2021:
WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

There’s more to the article. You can look it up if you want.

I don’t have cable or watch much TV. Yet, I still saw plenty of footage in 2020 of people burning buildings, killing police officers, looting stores, occupying square blocks of a city and attacking court houses. Many (majority) of those folks were regularly identified (clothing) as Antifa or BLM. Are you saying FOX made that up? Those things, unlike the “insurrection”, actually happened. Imagine, if folks on the “right” would have taken over 6 blocks of major city for weeks how it would have been covered by media. Yep, the same way they covered the “insurrection”.

In this thread (22 lr ammo) you accuse others of “twisting the truth”, yet you do the same to justify your own agenda. Please stop your smug, caustic comments towards others. Like the saying goes, when you point fingers at others there are 3 fingers pointing back towards yourself.

LOL okay "I don’t have cable or watch much TV. Yet, I still saw plenty of footage in 2020 of people burning buildings, killing police officers, looting stores, occupying square blocks of a city and attacking court houses. Many (majority) of those folks were regularly identified (clothing) as Antifa or BLM."

Right off the cue cards...almost verbatim. "I don't have cable"....so they mail these talking points out to you or do you download them from a server you connect to once a day? Odd, all of that happened on Jan 6th too. Where is your manufactured outage about that?

Gotta ask, what "clothing" does Antifa or BLM wear for identification? Must be pretty overt since you so clearly recall exactly who was on TV based solely off glances from an accidental viewing in 2020. Did not think they dressed in uniforms like the Proud Boys.

"The FBI has found scant evidence....of an organized plot" Clearly you haven't been following current events since Aug 20th...seems like much of that got flushed down someone's golden toilet but luckily most of the evidence survived and was recently rescued from a certain golf course. Oh, and you are suggesting BLM and Antifa....which is literally an organization without structure, leadership, or organization. Was organized? How much of an "organized plot" do you think a group that is not "organized" by definition, had? Double standards since you dismiss the events of Jan 6th an occurrence of random strangers. Let me guess, someone just accidently had the exact materials to build a FULL SIZED GALLOWS in front of the Capitol Building and hastily built that morning with tools they found on the ground? People showed up days before touring the building, then giving directions (via megaphone) to the rioters on Jan 6th of where to go and what to do. People were in full riot gear, plate carriers, bear spray, etc for a casual afternoon stroll? LOL...priceless if you think that sounds like something that just happened by accident. Don't forget the FBI had been warning that exact thing would happen for weeks prior...did they get that from their magic 8-ball? Do you really believe that kool aid or expect others to?

And please do not act like you have no agenda which you are promoting "In this thread" about "22 lr ammo." I didn't open the door, "Obamanation" did with creative use of dates and false claims. Yet you are here only calling me out, and participating in the same behavior but I am the only bad guy....why? Oh, you don't mind the 'agenda' going the other direction....

You make assumptions about my motivations and agenda that are baseless. Your assumptions can only be a product of your own imagination because they don’t reflect reality in the least. Then you mock my statements based on these truly baseless assumptions, which you created? That’s not a behavior typical of a confident person.
Oh, you are correct about one point. I didn’t comment on “Obamanation”. To be honest, I had no idea what Surculus was trying to say so I just skipped it.

I apologize, if I had known you were not capable of understanding such a basic statement like OP Surculus' initial post....I vastly overestimated you. Perhaps a poor assumption? No wonder you are two years behind current events and confused by this entire discussion. You do seem confident though. But we all know confidence is not a reflection of intelligence or ability, Dunning and Kruger have a theory about that.
