It's just a marketing term. Like "Tactical" designed to catch those that may like the verbiage "surgical".

Cases are not junk. Just as a tactical backpack still carrys your shit to the local range were everyone tries to convince themselves they are true warriors and would never buy anything tactical.

Everybody is a knife expert these days.

As a hunter and farmer I always carry case knifes. They sharpen quick hold an edge and built tough.

The only thing that makes this knife junk is "marines " (also marketing)

If they aren't telling you the knife steel on a knife over $25 it is because the steel is low quality. Judging by the mirror finish on their blades they are probably 420 or 440, which is the same stuff used on $5 swap meet knives.

Edit: Having researched it, Case uses 440HC, which is not a quality steel for any knife over $50. Unless the fit and finish is out of this world (it isn't) Case is hoping you keep buying based on nostalgia...which is why they run some many "collectible" knives that older guys are prone to buying.

Checked their site and they use that low end steel on a knife that costs $369. Absolute insanity.

Here is the same cheap steel being used on a $10 knife.

"Blade Material Trusharp Surgical Steel"

In other words, junk.

Who the hell keeps buying these POS knives?
