Since when is list price a deal? This listing is the most expensive one of the lot. Georgia Gun Store has them for 465. Personally, I'm waiting for 399.

Got mine yesterday from another vendor. My 10th pistol and second canik. I am not happy. One of the screws holding the plate with the rear sight stripped completely when i tried removing it. The first one came out no issues. So much for competition ready.. also the plate that was suposed to hold my vortex venom is out of spec so I am sol for the range this Saturday. Thank goodness for my tried and true M&P core. I went cheap as I did not want to pay 600 for another core then have to throw in 150 for the apex trigger. Granted the tp9 pistol is super accurate and have no function issues and a great trigger but still pissed about the project I have now

The problem with Turkish guns is weather they are made from good quality steel or Pot Metal, we can't be sure. I personally would take the word of the German or Austrian gun Makers along with the US. Turkey is very iffy one their export buiness, and honestly you can't be sure that the parts in the gun meet the Qc control they are supposed to, and Century used to be famous for their poor quality AR's and AK's that were slapped together with mismatched parts. It's not worth it to save a hundred bucks and end up with a gun that cracks one day. lso the Sphinx which was over a thousand dollars I just got for $699, and it can shoot circles around any of these guns. Plus as mentioned Turkey is not exactly a friend to our Country. So Fuck them, and their special forces bullshit. Their special forces are not special, and I doubt that they carry the guns that Buds attributes to them, "of they would be carrying 10 different guns, as they all claim to be carried by the military, maybe that's why they can't win a battle. I am sure they would shit for a Glock 17. Plus use your head, what spec ops guy would carry a gun this big. Ours carry 19's and switched from Sigs which were still 1/3 smaller than this gun that doesn't have the ports in the barrel, just the slide, for stupid Americans who think it's ported, Wow it looks so cool. NOT The last thing you want to do is eliminate weight from the front of the pistol if it's not a ported barrell, it's only going to work against you by allowing the muzzle to flip.

Such a dumbass !!!!! got a buddy of mine train with Turkish SF and Israeli SF, he speeks highly about his Turkish counterparts...do you even know that Turkish firm sells CHF barbells to DOD's SCAR project 2!!.

Feed some info into your hairy ignorant ass... Religion and Firearms got nothing in common...

I got many good diverse friendship that goes way beyond religion ethnic boundaries...

I would buy any Turkish firearms in a heartbeat... they got the quality reliability and functionality..

Personally own Zenith MKE n 3 Canik's ...way better than some crappie American...

Why should I own a Muslim country made firearms that supported radical Muslim terrorists that are always against USA. I still remember 911!

My money is better spent on American made firearms.

I sold all my Turkish made guns years ago... no need to buy Muslim crap!

Turkey is a secular country by its constitution (like the USA) They're also a member of NATO- maybe you've heard of that?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_states_of_NATO...

As far as supporting radical terrorists, I think you're thinking of a different country- like Saudi Arabia (the 911 hijackers were from there).

Sell all the guns you want and buy from whom you want, but these guns are certainly not 'crap'.

If you don't own a Cannik you should. These are great guns and manufactured to very high ISO standards and they are reasonably priced. I have a few because I am always shocked at how good they are.

So first this is not a good deal. It should not even be listed here. Mainly because as most of us already know Cabela's never has a good price on any gun. Typically Cabela's is about 100.00 over what you can purchase just about anywhere else. So when they have a sale they really are about even with other places you can purchase a gun.

However if you really want to spend the money go with a Walther PPQ 5". Amazingly enough it looks extremely similar to this gun. The trigger on the PPQ is maybe the best factory trigger ever and can be found on sale very close to this price. I really like the TP9 but the Walter PPQ is just better.

Remember kids ....Never buy guns from Cabela's ... They just have terrible prices on guns.

I have two Canik's and love them. If I wanted to be lame and get a gamer gun, this is what I'd get. Read the reviews. It holds 20 rounds and comes with a stack of base plates for optics.

Not sure why the hate on Cabela's- at least for this model it's a good price.

The cost was actually a 50.00 higher when I posted the original post I believe it was 549.95. It is nice that it has been dropped by fifty dollars. As for hate ... I actually love to shop at Cabella's. It is my favorite store for reloading supplies. They just have terrible gun prices. That being said ... anytime you see a Cabella's gun on sale that really means the price is about average not really a Slick Deal, but that is just an opinion and I have no claim to being 100% correct all the time. I would still love to own this gun though, and might be willing to spend my points to get it.

If you want to really go all out, then get the PPQ Q5 "Match".

Special Forces my ass.If it's a target gun, call it that. Don't try to use every dumb cliche that's possible to market a Turkish made firearm to Americans. I don't know of any Spec Ops guys who carry this thing.

While it's not ideal to lose the rear sight, keep in mind this isn't a carry or combat pistol. Its a competition model. For me personally, its a range toy. I'll put a dot on and that's all I'll ever use. I keep spare batteries in my bag if it dies. There is no need for backup sights.

I'm beyond excited for this thing. I love my TP9SF, it's one of my best shooting guns. With all the improvements here, this should be a tack driver. And for the $395 I paid, its a steal

You have to remove the rear sight to install an optic.....

Who are the marketing geniuses that came up with this gun's name? It may very well be a decent gun, but who would buy it? They would need mall ninja uber deathly status!

Perhaps from the same team that told SA "GRIP ZONE" would be a good idea....

I'm not sure what is up with the title, but I don't really think that's the actual name... or at least not one you'll see it referenced by.

TP9 SFx is the designation that's correct. The SF does stand for special forces to my knowledge, but I've never seen the SF line advertised that way. The x may stand for xtreme I guess... but that i've never seen before. The elite moniker is from a different pistol on the TP9 series, that again, I've never seen attached to this specific model.

As for who would buy me. Me. And probably a ton of people as these things trickle onto the market. I think they are one of the most hotly anticipated firearms this year (partially because Canik started showing it off in 2015, and everyone expected it last year).

It's their race gun version of the SF.
