I bought a this for an emergency bag setup. The hatchet is minimally capable for firewood. You will be able to cup small branches down to size (maybe 2-3” branches). The knife feels pretty good in the hand but the holster is too tight and can’t draw it without pulling the holster off your belt. The saw is a fine tooth blade so it takes longer to cut but it works. Everything is very sharp (not sure if it’ll chip with extended use) but everything is cutting great right out of the box. For $13, this is worth it for a budget emergency bag but I wouldn’t depend on this for normal activities.

FYI I picked this pack up in store without ordering online and it was marked down to $9.
If you happen to be in a local store check out the price before you order online.

I was going to order online if they didn't have in store.
Nice little set to add to whatever you have.
Gave this one to my 11 year old to go play out in the woods with.

The hatchet is basically useless as a hatchet, since it is a thin knife-like blade, so it is essentially a Ulu knife with a hatchet handle.

So a no go for small chopping jobs like making a small campfire?

Better off batoning with a larger fixed blade.

Tax plus shipping in my State

"Free Store Pickup or Free S/H over $35" and of course there is tax being Wal-Mart has brick and mortars in EVERY STATE. News flash: water is wet, sand is rough, and you have to pay your taxes by April 15th.
