The Caldwell® Lead Sled® DFT 2 (Dual-Frame Technology) Shooting Rest provides shooters with an optimal platform for steady shooting, while reducing recoil considerably. A dual frame design disperses a maximum amount of recoil energy, and provides 18" of adjustment to fit rifles and shotguns of virtually any size, including detachable magazine rifles and lever action rifles. An advanced rear recoil shock-absorbing pad cushions the firearm, and an improved elevation ram eliminates wobble in the front cradle. Elevation and windage adjustments are fast and positive. All metal surfaces that could contact your firearm are covered in non-marring material. The Lead Sled DFT 2 Shooting Rest features a re-designed baffled tray that holds up to 100 lbs. of lead shot.

Bought one a few years ago. I never sight in rifles without it. I even used it to sight in red dot sights on a 10mm pistol.
love mine! I bought it years ago after I broke my back, even before the first 2 surgery's I could shoot with the lead sled even 458 lott and 577 t-rex! I still use it after the 3rd surgery but I don't have to, it works well for me...
Buy this from Amazon for the same price and get two day shipping from a business that doesn't lie about their prices! Cabelas is a bait and switch retailer. Careful, they will probably cancel your order like they just did to hundreds of us that bought scopes on the black Friday sale. Cabelas is being very unethical.
First, Amazon probably only marked it down to pricematch Cabela's. They're basically a deal imitator, not an innovator. Odd are as soon as it goes out of stock at Cabela's Amazon will hike the price back up. Second, Amazon won't accept the Cabela's gift cards I bought for 18% off so I'd have to pay about 22% more for it.
Stereodude, His experience was from 2015 my friend, but your info to him was still pertinent and solid info.
In 2015 issues I had with Cabelas annoyed me to the point I cancelled my Cabelas Visa card.
Just last week, I ordered two items for holiday gifts, both were back-ordered and it said 'Backorders Accepted'. So I ordered the items.
A week later I get a cancellation notice because they claimed they don't know when it will be in stock. Guess what? They had every color except the one I ordered, I told them, no problem, I'll wait as long as it takes, or they could substitute another color, no problem. Had the item not said; backorders accepted, no big deal. Its a popular item that has a zero percent chance of not being back in stock quickly.
They said no go. Now that Bass Pro Shops bought out Cabelas for 4 Billion dollars, hopefully the service and idiotic policies will abate.
Oops, I didn't realize the comment was 2 years old in my hurry this morning. I was skeptical that it was that price at Amazon since I checked the price at Amazon and the price history at Amazon using CamelCamelCamel last night, but double checked Amazon's price this morning and saw it was indeed the same $119.99 as Cabela's so everything aligned.
However, upon a closer look I see that Amazon didn't even sell the Lead Sled DFT 2 two years ago, so who knows what this listing and his comment was originally for.
I also see that Amazon has raised their price back to $203.xx while Cabela's still has it for $119.99. Go figure...
FWIW, I backordered something on Wed (not a optic LOL ) from Cabela's and have my fingers crossed, but I understand they are iffy on backorders of sale items around this time of year.
I got this for my dad last year at the same price, and we have been very pleased with it. We recently took it out to sight in a few shotguns and rifles and it worked flawlessly. We have not purchased the lead bags yet, but the way it soaked up recoil they werent necessary. The lead could have helped sighting our 7.62-54r and .308s, but the fine adjustments made it so easy to re-zero that it wasnt a big deal. The only thing better than this for sighting would be a vise.
Be aware that the dual frame still doesnt let you use much longer mags. You could maybe get a long AR15 mag in there (we didnt have any 5.56 rifles so didnt test that) but anything larger will be too wide to fit between the frame tubes. Even the single-stack 7.62x54r 10-round mag in our Vepr was too thick. Luckily we brought short mags for everything as well.
Was OOS, restocked, then bought 1 with gift card deal
