Won't make an "assault rifle" out of your Glock despite what the description says (unless maybe you have a Glock 18, which you probably don't, since it's a Class III select-fire pistol). Could make a standard Gen3/4 into a somewhat cool SBR, but there are much better ways to spend $320 + $200 tax stamp + transfer fee...

For everyone complaining about NFA requirements, you can buy 16" barrels for your Glock and use this kit to make it a rifle. You can legally take a pistol, make it a rifle and make it back into a pistol as many times as you want.

100 dollars max for a plastic injection molded add on...and that is if NFA rules did not exist.

Why would anyone drop $200.00 on a stamp for a piece of plastic?

Current pistol ammunition performs best from 10 to 12 inch barrels, so the person would be paying the $200 tax to get best performance and not "for a piece of plastic"

Unless I am missing something this piece of plastic does not extend a Glock's barrel to 10-12 inches so your point does not apply unless you also buy a longer barrel. For this price (with a new barrel) you would be much better of with a purpose built SBR.

You're missing something and no, you wouldn't be better off with a purpose built SBR

I must be because I do not see how surrounding a gun in plastic makes it more accurate, maybe easier to shoot, but not inherently more accurate. Also if you had jam couldn't all of this crap get in the way of effectively clearing during a high stress event? Big no no in the self defense firearm's favor. I get it, you are trying to spend money to make a pistol a one size all firearm however it will never be. You can sharpen the side of a spoon and carve little points at the end (let's call this a "spork") but it will never be as good as a single knife, spoon, or fork is at its job and by adding functions you remove functionality.

Buy the Glock and buy a SBR type gun (with a "brace") with the extra money you saved. It's like buy one get one free plus you have redundancy. Two is one, and one is none.

The discussion was paying the $200 tax for an SBR. Making it an SBR would allow you to put a stock on it and the increased accuracy which comes from having a buttstock justifies installing a longer barrel optimal for pistol calibers. Therefore it is more than just paying $200 "for a piece of plastic".

Why buy an SBR and separate pistol if you are only going to carry one at a time? Why travel with that extra weight? Why require the added logistics?

The charging handle is large and easy to use. The ejection side opening is also large so clearing a jam is a non-issue with proper training

The "discussion" also included 12 inch barrels on a otherwise stock Glock but someone dropped that little detail. I personally was taking into account the price of this product AND that of tax stamp.

Also "logistically" speaking of course, you are going to carry this, maybe a reddot, spare mags, and a pistol all at the same time? If you have all if this extra room you could easily carry a second firearm WITHOUT the need to assemble your SBR or disassemble your pistol. Where the heck do you store this thing when not installed on your sidearm?

... or you could buy something like this:

File for the stamp, then get a stock. You still get that Aliens/Predator look without sacrificing performance.

You still have to buy the Glock plus this thing and a $200 stamp. So you would be in for $900-$1000. Better off buying an A/R or A/K pistol, then get a stamp and do the conversion.

Posts for these sort of products should be required to have a "ALL NFA RULES APPLY" in all-caps as the 1st line of the deal description, so that unwitting readers don't get all excited about them at 1st glance... Just sayin'.

Does this have to be registered with the ATF as an SBR? Text stamp and everything?

Short answer is yes. I have no idea why anyone would buy this since the cost is going be over $500 plus the time and aggravation associated with obtaining a stamp. You also have to supply the Glock.

You could easily get an AR or AK pistol with a Sig Tac Brace for a way better looking and functional SBR. The only thing missing would be the forward vertical grip, which is something I could easily live without.

unless you happen to have your pistol registered as an SBR and the tax stamp done (6-14 month wait) this would be highly illegal to have around with the glock that fits in it.

For about 300 you can get a Hi-Point pistol caliber carbine. No need for tax stamp so save 200. For the price of this + tax stamp (500) you might as well buy a kel-tec sub 2k that accepts glock mags. IMO there are better options for your money.

They have a disclaimer but it can't be said enough...Be aware that if you put your glock in this without first getting a $200 tax stamp etc you are committing a felony. This turns your firearm into a short barrel rifle. You technically should get the stamp before even purchasing this. If you don't understand all this and exactly what you need to do to avoid prison with it, don't even consider buying it.

Assault weapon? It converts the host pistol's trigger group to full auto?

Nowhere does it claim to convert the glock into a full auto. The video is shot in Israel where the Glock 18 is more accessible.

I assumed that this was targeted for sales in the USA where an assault weapon is full auto or "burst" fire by definition.

Incorrect. You're confusing assault weapon with assault rifle which is exactly what the anti gun crowd wants.

That's assault RIFLE. Assault WEAPON is a term invented by the anti gun groups. The fact that this seller actually uses it in their ad is another reason not to buy this.

The description is taken directly from the Israeli company CAA's website. I will forward along the message that some of its targeted users are sensitive and they should consider changing their wording....

It converts it to a short barrel rifle since it adds a stock.

I don't under the reasoning behind this. For the price of a Glock and the above "Snake Plissken: Escape from LA" thing you can buy an AR or AK pistol, get the stamp and then add a stock for a real SBR.

Is there a real reason to spend the $600 on this after NFA stamp other than being that guy? haha

Might as well add the $200 NFA stamp tax you need to actually use this to the total.
