Looking at getting a nice 1911 and trying to make my mind up between this (or the Magnum Research version I am pretty sure they are identical) Springfield Armory Ronin (I am a sucker for 2 toned guns) Springfield Armory Garrison (I really like the traditional looks with the modern features) and Fusion firearms 1911. If anybody has any advice or opinions on which I should get chime in would live to hear.

Yes. I picked both the commander and officer in 9mm. They are excellent 1911, even my FFL was curious and told me they are hand-built. I was surprise as I'm new to the 1911 platform. Good luck with finding one.

If this deal was on a 9mm version, I would buy one. Although .45 had always been the standard, nothing feels as good handling and shooting as a well made 1911 in 9mm. The 1911 frame soaks up the lighter recoil of the 9mm like no other pistol does. To add to the pleasure, one also gets a much higher capacity. With the advances in ammunition technology, especially in the self defense realm, the 9mm round is as capable as any other higher caliber traditional 1911 .45 rounds. As I try to add, this is purely my personal opinion and you certainly have the right to your own. Respect mine and I will do the same!

If I’m buying a 1911, I’m buying it chambered for the cartridge it was designed for. If I’m buying a 9mm, it’ll be something that holds more than 10 rounds.

I like my 45 cal slug chuckers. Either one works as a range shooter. EDC for me means a good round thats gonna knock em down and keep em down, with limited collateral damage. 9mm in a daily carry package is usually a polymer wonder 9 of higher capacity. Whatever works for you is ok by me.
