Cartridge: 5.56 mm NATO
Finish: Titanium Nitride
Add Aesthetic Durability to Your AR-15
Adding aftermarket components to an AR-15 doesn't have to be about practicality and utilitarianism. Sometimes, the look of a finished rifle plays into the selection of components. Get an eye-catching design in your rifle with the addition of the Brownells TiN M16 Bolt Carrier Group.
The Brownells TiN M16 Bolt Carrier Group provides AR owners with both rugged durability and an incredibly stunning look, thanks to the bright gold titanium-nitride finish used on the surface of the carrier and bolt. The carrier is made using 8620 tool steel, while the bolt head is machined from durable 9310 tool steel. The bolt is magnetic-particle inspected to ensure that consumers get the best-possible components, and the carrier itself is heat-treated for added durability.
- Bolt-carrier group weighs 12 ounces
- Designed for use in 5.56 NATO, .223 Rem., .300 Blackout and .204 Ruger AR-15s
- Includes M16 carrier notch for reliable performance in full-auto rifles

Did not receive my $15 gift card. And Brownell refuses to make good on this deal.
Anyone ever receive the gift card after ordering?
I have one of this on my ar15 for over a year now, put at least 2500 rds thrpught it and had 0 issues with I absolutely love how easy it is to clean and keep clean. Also I got a life time warranty with mine thats a deal on it's own to me extremely happy with it.
Why buy this when you can get a Toolcraft for the same price?
They don't have to brag about "and an O-ring already present on the extractor".
LOL
Hey, you are that low I.Q. keyboard warrior who has a gunt.
You provided zero reason as to why people shouldn't get one of these BCG's. You just said Toolcraft has them for the "same price". You didn't even provide a link to a Toolcraft TiNi BCG.
TiN, or Titanium nitride coatings are popular because of a distinctive look, awesome in my humble opinion. They are a very shiny gold in color, and the coating is as smooth and slick as nickel boron. The coating is also more durable than nickel boron. Ion bonded is almost as smooth as Tin or NB but more durable. it's also tested for quality. This is a good deal on an entry into Titanium Nitride at a great price.
I'm in a bit of a pickle with this. I want to order it, but Brownells won't even let me access their website to order it and have it shipped to my house stateside. I'm overseas for work and these douche nuggets won't even allow me to order it and have it sent to my house in Bama.
Could anyone that has picked this up, could you comment on quality? Or how you feel about the product? Thank you
I just got mine today, fit and finish are amazing so far, can't wait to take it out!
Thanks for posting the info and link! I have a number of black rifles in various configurations and each has a different BCG. The most spendy one I have is the DLC or diamond-like coated one. While quite smooth, it has performed no different, nor any better or worse, than even the least expensive parkerized milspec BCG. Now then...off to the comparisons.
Back ordered again?!.......guess all those NBA playa's beat me to it!
Never back order from Brownells they don't honor it. First time it was projectiles, the second time it was 10 lancer mags that they hit me for another 47 buks even when I screen shot my order they would not honor it said they never had it in their system at that price. I bet you will be billed 160.00 for this 110.00 dollar bolt
I've been ordering from Brownell's since the early 90's and I've never had them reneg on a back-order. If they get the item back in stock it shipped for the price I purchased it for. If it was purchased with a coupon that included Free shipping and handling it was shipped free. If it was purchased as part of a larger order it shipped free when the item came back into stock. If they can't get it back in stock, they send you an email to tell you that.
Has anyone else been banned from using promotion codes at Brownells? I used the M8X code on two separate orders and they sent me an email saying they were going to let me slide this one time but "all future orders will be reviewed and the promotion codes will be removed." And I've spent about $3000 at Brownells during the past few months. I've sent two requests for clarification to their CS but 3 weeks now, and no replies. (reposted from another deal)
One of the most expensive coatings to have on a bolt carrier group is titanium nitride or TiN. TiN is a thinly-applied surface coating has a shiny gold-like appearance and is often used for show builds due to aesthetics. Titanium Nitride is often used to coat drill bits or Although it does have a natural lubricity and it cleans easily, this coating offers nothing more than other offerings other than the shiny gold color.
My source: http://www.tacticalshit.com/black-nitride-matters/...
This is a great page that describes each bcg finish/coating/treatment.
For all you who are debating this bolt its not the hardness that is greater in a TIN its the Lubricocity and the ability to run more rounds without cleaning. There are harder bolts out their but TIN has one of the lowest friction and highest lubricocity on the market. Alot of know it alls that don't know on here...
It'd be a good deal if they were ever in Stock
It would have to be made of the material for it not to wear off at all. I don't think it would wear off completely, it'd probably still look awesome
I'm a bit confused in the lightweight BCG (offered by many). Isn't the point of the heavier mechanism to absorb part of the recoil before it hits the buttstock?
No it's to ensure reliability by how it was designed in a complete system. Making it lighter does just that, make it lighter. There are a bunch of way to reduce recoil but on an AR it is trivial really.
"Finish used on surface" makes me believe it would wear off over time.
It’s def a coating that will eventually wear off
Has anyone run these? Does the gold coating come off or is it infused into the metal?
TiN is an older coating, not as good as hard chrome nor melonite. It will wear through in relatively short order.
Have no idea why anyone would pay the premium for sub par coating..
The above post is CRAP - Melonite is just another name for BLACK NITRIDE TREATMENT........this is a TITANIUM NITRIDE treatment, meaning even HARDER than the normal salt bath NITRIDE hardening. Chrome will wear down(not to mention change the dimension of the part) LONG BEFORE BLACK MELONITE / NITRIDE and especially TITANIUM NITRIDE.........both of which change the molecular structure of the outer surface to be HARDER than CHROME and especially Nickel Boron, which will be the FIRST to go.
Sorry but this is just wrong. Melonite or Tennifer is another name for QPQ nitrocarburization, which is does create a molecular change in the surface.
I think you are confused because nitride is in each processes name. They are not the same. TiN is a PVD film, so it does not molecularly change the surface properties but is a coating.
Hard chrome is superior to TiN. Ion Bond is superior to TiN and Hard chrome. All three are surface films. Melonite (full qpq) is superior to them all.
You have much reading to do!
Well I don't have much reading to do, when you say superior you're talking in hardness but the purpose of these coating are for lubricocity not hardness. Which bolt last longer is irrelevant Ive owned them all and all last about as long as the next. The only difference is how well the bolt cleans off and the friction it causes when in action.
If you really knew what you were talki g about you would know a $100 is cheap for Titanium nitride bolt.
You buy what you want.. TiN does not last. I'm just telling you.. it doesn't gold a candle to HC or melonite. If it doesn't stand up to expected wear, then the lubricative properties do you no good.
If you want lubricity, get a NiB bcg from a reputable make.
Got one a few months ago ....can't tell the difference between this and any other bcg....but it is sooo much easier to clean,I would buy it again for sure.
