Why would they only have this for the gen 3, 2 generations ago?
Because the 80% kits everyone buys to BYO unregistered tool for defense of liberty are all based on the Gen3. And Gens 4 & 5 don't really bring anything meaningful to the table in terms of performance [not arguing that the various changes to the Block's grip aren't improvements, just nothing exceptional wrt changes to the basic design.]
Better off not buying the this combo with the barrel and just buy the slide from brownells, then buy a combat armory match threaded barrel for $60.
Uhm. I’m pretty sure combat armory does not make a barrel for the 19 that’s long enough to fit this slide, and a 17 barrel is incompatible with the 19, which is exactly why Brownells offers the 19LS
Lose the front serrations on the top of the slide.
The model with the window cut doesn’t have the serrations across the top and looks so much better. Also the serrations are sharp in a good way. Grab your hand a lot better than stock glock serrations.

Is this compatible with a G23 Gen3? This is the only Glock I own due to needing a practice gun identical to my issued duty firearm back in 2004. (What an asinine department that prohibited us from practicing with our actual duty weapons.) I'm no longer a LEO but have still kept this for some reason.
Yes, but for best results replace the ejector housing to the 9mm version to be extra confident in function.
Mine works fine on a G23 frame but I replaced the extractor & ejector assembly along with a .40-9 conversion barrel when I decided I wanted a 9mm. 19ls ws just icing on the cake

What guide rod would you use with this?
Brownells had g19 gen 3 camo flag color for 489. That’s very good deal bc cerekote the whole gun cost about 150 or obo. With RMR cut. I’m not sure if anyone need that. You can buy a plate to put in for Burris fastfire 3. RMR cost about 360-500
Trust me. Glock build is expensive. Already cost me about 600 with BCA barrel. I went out and bought a brand new g19 gen 5 for 460 out the door. The parts kit and sights and magazines cost way more than I thought.

That is not true. I have $385 wrapped up in mine. It has taken over a year waiting for good deals though. I would agree if you have money burning a hole in your then yeah buy complete.

Picked one, put it in my cart, entered the code and it only took twenty bucks off. The non cut slide and non threaded bbl came to $274.99 after code. I expected better. I'll keep shopping,as I am not super excited about a no name barrel.
