Update on my update. If you look at my other posts you can get The whole story. Basically mine had cosmetic issues and marks, the handguard was slightly under clocked (those things I could deal with) AND incorrect twist rate (1:7 not 1:8 as advertised.) I contacted brownells and they sent me a new upper. The new one had the correct barrel and did not have the cosmetic issues as the first one. Also a properly aligned handguard. Some interesting info I observed: the chamber flag was branded ATI and the QC check paper was watermarked American Tactical Imports. Fair to venture that's who us building these, for what it's worth. Also twist marking on the 1:7 barrel was laser etched and the 1:8 was machined in so I'm assuming different suppliers. Hope that helps. I still think it's a good buy

Update: Brownells replaced my upper and sent it via 2-day air. Replacement upper is in excellent condition. Free of any tool marks and looks brand new. Very satisfied with the way they handled my issue.

Update, if anyone is even reading this. Good: I took it out shooting. Ran 100% was able to sight it in easily. So fairly accurate. I'm just running a red dot so I can't say how accurate. BAD: unfortunately none of this means anything because they sent me a 1:7 twist even though I ordered 1:8. Brownells customer service is good so they're replacing it. So all my comments are for not. I'll update when the new one comes. Let's hope it's less ugly.

Received my upper today. Upper receiver was soaked in oil. Observed deep tool marks on the rear of the handguard where handguard meets the upper. It looks as if it has been hammered. Raw aluminum can be seen. Also has deep scratches along the picatinny rail and bottom of upper receiver. Raw aluminum present there also. I will be asking for a replacement first thing in the morning. These are all cosmetic issues, but I'm very disappointed. I'm starting to suspect these are blems

I got mine. Haven't shot it yet. Cosmeticly, not the best. The crush washer on he muzzle brake was smashed on the flats of the brake like they used a fixture and the muzzle brake itself had marks like the wrench slipped. Inside the action and on the bottom of the charging handle is some cosmetic marking. Other than that looks alright. The the upper receiver looked like it had been dunked or sprayed with oil. If it's any indication it came with a chamber flag from ATI so I guess we might know who's making these for brownells and why's they're so cheap. That being said I haven't actually shot it. I'll be doing that and reporting back.

I ordered one last week , for the price you can't go wrong. For a complet upper.. handguard i wished you have the option to choose the size even if you have to pay some extra bucks on it

I ordered one and it came in last week. I was able to shoot it yesterday for the first time. I wasnt through my first Mag when it stopped feeding. After that. Every 2 to 5 rounds I would have to pull the charging handle myself. Just a tale of caution

I'm really surprised that Brownell's has a complete upper this cheap. I'm kind of suspicious.

I ordered one. The the chamber flag and QC paper has printed with ATI (American tactical Imports) I'm fairly confident that's who is building them.

I don’t see Brownell’s putting their name on something that isn’t good.

I bought one a few months ago because it was soooo cheap. To be honest have never shot it but quality is good to go. If you need one or just want it. Buy it.
